if it happened to me I would stay calme and ask to speak with him in private,if he does ask first if he is happy of your work,if he does so ask him kindly not to shout to you anymore because you are not used to this kind of attitude,tell him to shout at a dog but not at you,always stay friendly with a smile on your face,if this doesn't help just try to look for another job,but try to speak first and let your boss know what is going on in your mind

wrong PRIYA, it is not accepted but fancied or rather aired like that women are better managers.. very female chavunistic statement in this forum. if women could manage their affairs well they had not craving for the sympathy which they keep doing. i feel wheather man or woman any one can be a good manager depends upon the individual.
from best cooks to the best surgen, the best athlete to even the best gyneacologists , most inventions to the best chess players , it has been unquestionaly men ! but this is not repeatedly sung by men world over just to give some space to women.SANDIP : if u feel ur boss is unjust , if in ur capacity u fully realise this with out any missed observation, pl speak to him straight forward or speak to his boss, as they say .. when in doubt .. go all out or get out.

It is better to become proactive and ensure that the job entrusted to you is done to the best of your ability. More often than not the problem arises when one is not sure of the job that to be done. In such cases one must ensure that complete understanding of the job is obtained from the superior and all justice is done in completing the task. Have patience and continue doing good work, sooner or later higher ups will notice the quality out put of the jobs done by you and appreciate your worth.

Do home work (1) Find out what work is given by your boss to you. (2) Ask for his clarification regarding the job; if not understood by you in a day or two. (3) Is he asking for feed back or for actual completion of the work. (4) Request him daily to give you some assistant. (5) Show results. Everything shall be ok. The female collegues may be more qualified than you or more sincere in the job; learn from them... no harm.. godd luck.

Rather than being reactive towards your boss' behaviour try being proactive and figure out what causes these outbursts. There must be something about his management tecnique that makes him a boss. As Shrihari pointed out, even another job may find you in the same soup.

Before jumping to conclusions, I'd advice you to observe if he is behaving in this manner with ALL males in your organization. If yes, then something is wrong with him. If no, then its time for you to pull up your socks and focus on your work, rather than cribbing.

It is not in your office but such situation you will find almost in all the offices worldwide. Concentrate on your work, complete the work assigned to you. If your boss start shouting too much then better start searching for the new job and once you find it say bye bye to this boss.
