is shared by several small stations in a particular region. E.g., Tiruppur, Salem, etc., share in the quota and wait list for some trains originating from Trivandrum or Mangalore. As another example, the 2723 Andhra Pradesh Exp. has three quotas, for Secunderabad - New Delhi, Secunderabad - nagpur, and Secunderabad - Bhopal. There is also a pooled quota for passengers travelling from Secunderabad to stations beyond Bhopal but short of Jhansi. If this quota is exhausted, a passenger is placed in the pooled quota waiting list. Pooled Quotas normally operate only from the originating station of a route, and there is only one Pooled Quota for the entire run. The Pooled Quota is intended to be utilized by passengers travelling from the originating station to a station short of the terminating station, or from an intermediate station to the terminating station, or between two intermediate stations. Such remote location quotas are also provided when there is a very strong demand for the train in question, because of which, without such additional quotas, all seats or berths might be fully consumed by passengers from the originating station leaving nothing available for those wishing to travel from intermediate points. Vacant Pooled Quota berths are automatically tapped by the PRS for booking end-to-end passengers. Passengers in the Pooled Quota Waiting List are cleared against the vacancies in the earmarked Pooled Quota only, or against General Quota vacancies available at the time of charting.

PQWL that you have referred is something different to RLWL. There is only a technical difference and the PQWL is highly recommended when the RLWL of a road side quota location is not available. Let me give you an example. A train starts from Howrah and goes to Cstm. As usual the Howrah location has got more quota than other quota locations. Suppose you want to travel from Raipur or Nagpur. The next quota location after Howrah is at Bilaspur and then Nagpur. Raipur comes in between Bilaspur and Nagpur. Normally, the Raipur Wl will be RLWl if Pq is not chosen while booking the ticket. So Raipur ticket will come in the Bilaspur location. Suppose, the Pq is chosen during booking then the ticket will come under the Howrah location. And the ticket detail will be printed in the Master chart that is the chart of Howrah. In Howrah there cannot be PqWl. If As quota is drawn from the main location it is called Pulled Quota. And there is chances of getting a berth. As berth in Bilaspur is less your ticket will be placed in waiting list or may be confirmed. But during the peak time there is no possibility of confirmation of any waiting list in the mid station quota location. As the master location has got full particulars of tickets and destinations, it has got authority to re book the berth after mid dropping of passengers those the ticket checking staff used to do before the unification of Prs or computerised reservation system. The Bilaspur location or mid location is not empowered to book the berth of central location that is Howrah, as it has got limited authority to book ticket of its allotted quotas. But mind it if a train leaves howrah at 16hours the chart is prepared four hours before that means 12 noon. After 12 noon no pooled quota is booked. However, the rest available mid station dropping is transfered to the next quota location that usually happens to be 6 to 8 hours journey. Though hour is not a criteria for quota location. And the rest berths are allotted to the wl of the remote location in a non pooled way. Lol. Very complicated is n't it? You had better book in the usual way if you happen to be alone.
