our country is developing very fast for last couple of years with a good economic growth and industrialization. but it is also true that not all sections of people are getting the benefits of this development. as per the thoughts of indian people concerned, the thoughts of the urban people are changing as an effect of the western trend. but the thoughts of the rural people are not growing so fast due to slow economic development in the rural areas.

I think the problem with our fellow countrymen has been mostly of lack of awareness and lack of will to change (or participate in the change) for the good. This attitude shift of wanting to do good things for ourselves has to come from within. Until then, bade log chhoton ka faayde uthaate hi rahenge...

As the earth is moving at a slow speed so we are not able to notice, like this our country is also developing but at a slow rate that goes unnoticable.

Who said people of our country dont want to develop? Dude, we have been developing faster than what we had expected couple of decades back. Indian economy has been growing at the rate of more than 8% per annum, the salary is increasing at the rate of around 15 % per annum and thus there is an increase in the per head capita of the people of india.
There has been lot of negativity around though, like on every crossroad, people say that nothing good's gonna happen to this country, and thats the negativity around. If you come at some metro city you will see the developement around, but if you are in some remote village asking us this question then well, wait for some more time and you will see change around too. If you are talkin about the mentality of indians, well i agree that we haven't been developed yet. We are used to staying in group, means, we are brought up in joint family and then we have hight emotional quotent than those of americans, if you are even making a comparision. So, we have been used to with the feeling of "chalta hai".
I know i haven't completely answered your question in first place, but then its a huge topic to discuss about...
