aperson who does not love himself cannot love others. it is true because such people are hopeless and aimless. they just live because they are breathheing. they don't fel the essence of emotions.

Self love means building self esteem and it is very essential to earn respect socially as well. Someone who cannot love himself feels inferior and naturally gets jealous of all others around him and that's a problem again.

Yeah, this is really true. But one should not take the saying purely on literal meaning for it has a metaphorical implication . If a person is to be really in love himself it would be narcissism. what is says is that one should feel one's existence and belongingness and have self respect and having self respect is harboring love for himself. now when he understands this he would feel the sorrow and adversity of others and also can take part in the weal and woe of others. and this act is loving others. People do not live alone. They love and hate as this is already cultivated in him. Every social worker is a philanthropic and a philanthropic first learns the lesson to love and respect himself.

Its true, when a person do not take care of him, love himself, its seldom chance that he would love his family, wife children etc. He cannot come up as leader, or in any other great position.

Their pessimistic attitude comes from their inbuilt behavior that either is inherited or comes through some unforgettable circumstances.
