Oh are so many peoples merge in your self development that I cannot itemize all here.
I'm thinking in the beginning at the parents (the ones which are educating theirs ramies, teachers in school (if the kids are learning in a school), if they are not, then are the street rules forming the character, the society in general by his daily rubbing is forming us and we never know, even the advertise at TV has certain influence on our free will (albeit we haven't recognize it)

self devlopment canot be forced upon some one. it can be inculcated only in the mind that has the desire to develop. if the head is strong and the there is will power, then only a person can bring changes in his behaviour and habits. such changes cannot be enforced witout the permission of the mind.
