indeed if you are able to keep your emotions in controll then many a times you would stop yourself from creating a scene. if you are emotionaly strong then you would be able to bear the hardships of life easily and also be able to give support to others during times of distress. emotionally strong peole take decission from their mind and not from the heart, so the decisions taken by them are also prudent.

I think emotional maturity is the consequence of self development. Emotional maturity can be attained by self development but not vice-versa.
