well, When an address or data byte has been transmitted onto the bus then this must be ACKNOWLEDGED by the slaves. In case of an address: If the address matches its own then that slave and only that slave will respond to the address with an ACK. In case of a byte transmitted to an already addressed slave then that slave will respond with an ACK as well. The slave that is going to give an ACK pulls

, I read through the instruction manual and installed the driver CD data in the computer. I have my 20 GB as the master and the new 80 GB as the slave drive. Everything went well in the installation problem as long as each device is on a separate interface, but adding support for a second drive on the same cable took some ingenuity....The slave drive doesnt rely on the master drive for its operation

well, A MOSFET flip-flop circuit consisting of a slave circuit formed of a pair of cross-coupled MOSFETs and a master circuit connectable to the slave circuit by the trigger pulse is disclosed. Precharging of the slave and master circuits can be accomplished by a system clock or by DC. By substituting an analog voltage for the precharging voltage on one or both sides of the master circuit, the output

?...well;Assuming that the drives are attached to the same controller and they work properly when attached one-at-a-time, you probably dont have them configured properly for Master/Slave operation. When operating 2 IDE drives, one must be designated as "Master" and the other as "Slave." There are jumpers on every IDE drive to configure this. Check your hard drive manuals for the jumper settings for your drives

to it, and the other one ignores the command, remaining silent.Note that despite the hierarchical-sounding names of "master" and "slave", the master drive does not have any special status compared to the slave one; they are really equals in most respects. The only practical difference between master and slave is that the PC considers the master "first" and the slave "

sharing a cable with the your current drive, you need to designate your new drive as the Slave drive. However, if your new drive is going to be used as your PCs new boot drive, you want to set the jumper be Master, and one should be Slave according to the jumpers. Keep this in mind when installing your new hard drive. You will usually want your hard drive to be master unless there is another hard drive

of the slave. This network of group of up to 8 devices 1 master 7 slaves is called a piconet. At any given time, data can be transferred between the master and 1 slave; but the master switches rapidly from slave to slave in a round-robin fashion. Simultaneous transmission from the master to multiple slaves is possible, but not used much in practice. Either device may switch the master/slave role at any time

In traditional MySQL replication, a master MySQL server updates one or more slaves. Transactions are committed sequentially, and a slow transaction can cause the slave to lag behind the master. This means that if the master fails, it is possible that the slave might not have recorded the last few transactions. If a transaction-safe engine such as InnoDB is being used, a transaction will either

well, Computers number things in a funny way at times. The first drive might be called "0"; the second "1". Set the Primary Slave drive to "None" or "-roim cable with the hard drive cable to see if the cable is bad....Computers number things in a funny way at times. wellyes of course, the data thats still on the hard drive is safe as long as you dont format it,and you have two options on how to still use the datayou can use it as a slave device in your new p.c,as previously mentioned simply change the drives jumper settings to slave and attach to the p,c as normalyou could also buy a external hard drive caddy and turn your old drive into a fully working usb2.0 external

drive, set the jumper to master, if you want it as a secondary drive then set it to slave, alternatively you could use a separate IDE cable on the motherboards secondary IDE interface see motherboard into the motherboard and then the slave and master connections are used for IDE devices such as hard drives, if you are only installing one drive or the new drive is to be the master then use the master connector
