yes surely as if we respect ourself than only we can respect the others and every person should have the self respect ....What ever you can do the best for yourself you will be able to share or impart to others .This also will be from the heart....yes we should respect ourselves but we should not become proud or hypocrite we should really assesss our personality...until and unless u dont know how to respect

I would say that it is a common practice of ignorance of mannerism. On the other hand it can say some one intentionally do not want to pay respect to respectable person according to egoism. But rather I would say respectable person wont let down his/her due respect whether anybuddy is respecting him/her or not. Respectable person remain his/her own respectable position in his/her field.
