there are several types of nurses. a cna is a nurse assistant with one semester of college training. a lpn is a liscensed practical nurse- or a lvn liscensed vocational nurse- same thing. they have one year of nursing school after thier pre-requisits. they can do almost everything except give certain narcotics and a few other restrictions. a rn- registerd nurse- has two years nursing school
