mohit, not a bad destination 2go wth ur family but mind u gotta carry enough warm clothes n jackets..dont know where ur located but the cheapest form of travel would be by rail....though u have flights operating to its nearest destination until siliguri which is approx 5hrs from gangtok...can plan u

from gangtok its approx 5hrs drive..but anyways u have to come till siliguri to go towards the nepal border..from siliguri its approx 1hr drive to its border town called dhulabari...where u get to do a lot of shopping ..cheap chinese items..
