sugar is a dissolving element in any kind of liquid. it doesnt hampers ur car engine or fuel tank. it will totaly dissolve in two to three days.make sure ur fuel tank is full....Get your car towed to an authorized garage and have them drain the fuel tank completely, the carburetor, fuel filter and fuel pump need to be cleaned, before filing good fuel in order to restart the engine.

First,Remove fuel filter connections from fuel lines. A small amount of fuel will leak out when connections are removed. Next remove the fuel filter mounting bracket bolt and remove filter.then install the fuel filter mount. After the fuel filter mount is installed reinstall fuel filter. Make sure the sealing ''O'' rings are in place, in good condition and free from debris. Remount filter

All fuel gauges are inbuilt by the manufacturers and these are specific with respect to size, shape, and configuration of the tank in order to give correct fuel readings.

From a purely safety point of view, you must attend to it immediately. The leakage can be arrested by welding. For this you have to take it to a garage, get the tank emptied, removed and then welded. Be sure to pressure test the tank before refitting. you could also temporarily arrest leakage by us
