CPUs, Dual core is simply a generic term referring to any processor package with two physical CPUs in one.Dual Core is better because it has 2 processors. The more the better. Dell has a Quad Core, 4, processor computer and Mac has a Dual Quad Core processor, yes 8 processors. The main difference is that core duo is 32-bit processor, where as Core 2 Duo is 64-it processor, also for Core 2 Duo, the cache

core2duo is a brand of processor made by Intel whereas a dual core proccesor is a processor that is composed of 2 cores....Core 2 duo is performance wise better than dual core processor due to cahce single core processors like P4, Celeron, AMD Athlon, etc.... Intels Dual core processor was the first generation two core processor whereas Core 2 Duo is the 2nd generation two core processor by intel, so

a dual core processor has 2 cores..basically its 2 processors..its a huge performance boost for programs which take advantage of this...Well there are major differences between a normal processor.Well A processor is generally a Central Processing Unit CPUis a description of a certain class of logic machines that can execute computer programs. It is meant for single user.Where as Dual-core refers

Dual core is simply a generic term referring to any processor package with two physical CPUs in one. The Pentium D is simply two Pentium 4 Prescott cpus inefficiently paired together and ran as dual core. The Core Duo is Intels first generation dual core processor based upon the Pentium M a Pentium III-4 hybrid made mostly for laptops though a few motherboard manufacturers have released desktop

Yes you can. Check for latest updates / drivers on Google.com, this normally install the proper settings for your operating system to be more compatible with your hardware, I think you just need more updated software for XP! If your writer is LG or Samsung just an example search for Latest XP Driver

no, rather I say it is faster than single core and dual core is for sepration of processor capability to work on applications and processing of data...If i have a dual core processor running at 1.6ghz does that mean in total it will be running at 3.2 ghz?"No."Or is it that each will run at 1.6ghz but the dual core technology is only for multi taskings?"Yes."I also want to know if a

No! there is no combo choices available for dual core processor and dual data rate DDR2 RAM memory. Its independent of each other. But adding DDR2 with dual core processor will increase your system

behind it is that a dual-core processor with each running at 1.6GHz should be equivalent to a single processor running at 3.2GHz. The problem is that this doesnt work in practice when the applications are not written to take advantage of the multiple processors. Until the software is written this way, un-threaded applications will run faster on a single processor than a dual-core CPU. Symmetric Multiprocessing

A dual core CPU is similar but not exactly like having two separate CPUs. Each core can work on one task or "thread" at a time, but the two cores dont "team up" to run one thread faster.Your PC is pretty much NEVER doing just one thing at a time. If you run Windows Task Manager youll see a list of all of the tasks running on your PC. A dual core CPU can work on two of those tasks

is not double . but is around 65-70 more .like u hav dual-core 1.6 , that means total is 2.5-2.6 ghz...Yes it does. Usualy means you have double the cpu speed that shows on your system...no both r not at all same a 1.6Ghz dual core processor has a specified technology to achieve parallelism so tat ur tasks gets speed up whereas loosely connecting 2 processors doesnt help achieve parallelism.no the total is not 3
