hello bhatt The Core 2 brand refers to a range of Intels consumer 64-bit dual-core and 2x2 MCM quad-core CPUs with the x86-64 instruction set, based on the Intel Core microarchitecture, derived from the 32-bit dual-core Yonah laptop processor. Note: The Yonahs silicon chip or die comprised two interconnected cores - each similar to those branded Pentium M. The 2x2 MCM dual-die quad-core[1...] CPU had

A dual core set-up is somewhat comparable to having multiple, separate processors installed in the same computer, but because the two processors are actually plugged into the same socket, the connection between them is faster. Ideally, a dual core processor is nearly twice as powerful as a single core processor. In practice, performance gains are said to be about fifty percent: a dual core

well, Core 2 Duo configurations performed impressively, and the higher-end models in particular should allow power users to handle demanding multimedia work on their PCs more quickly and to perform for some Intel employees, as the company announced the layoff of 1000 management employees. The Core 2 Duo LineThe Core 2 Duo processor line ranges from the 1.86-GHz E6300 chip 183 with 2MB of cache to the 2

A single chip that contains two distinct processors that work simultaneously. IBM introduced dual cores in its Power 4 chips in 2000. In 2004, Sun and HP introduced their first dual core CPUs.The first dual core chips for x86-based PCs and servers were introduced in 2005 and included the Pentium D and Pentium Processor Extreme Edition 840 from Intel and the Opteron 800 and Athlon 64 X2 from AMD. Usually when you see computers advertised with "dual-core processor" without listing the specific model, they are trying to sell an older model cpu like a Pentium-D for desktops or "Core Duo" for laptops. Intels E21xx processors are also dual-core, just less powerful than Core 2 Duos.AMDs X2 series of cpus are dual-core, and perform much better than Intels single-core Pentium 4

"Dual core" is simply a generic term referring to any processor package with two physical CPUs in one i.e. a CPU with two separate cores on the same die, each with its own cache. Its the equivalent of getting two microprocessors in one. The Pentium D is simply two Pentium 4 Prescott CPUs inefficiently paired together and ran as dual core. In a dual core processor each core handles incoming
