AMD processors have almost always been a step or two behind Intels. There was about an eight-month period where this wasnt true, but Intel caught up and passed them again.Intel processors of the machine. AMDs on the other hand are already running at near their maximum speed and they can not be overclocked without experiencing heat issues. If you wanted to compare two similar processors head to head

AMD is better if good cooling environment is provided and in cool environments AMD performance is excellent. But if you use AMD in a room where no A/C is provided then sometimes the processing will be slow but this problem is no more big issue. If your budget is low then go for AMD but if the motherboard or Processor gets any problem after the Warranty period then no one will repair and you have

athlon is made by AMD. i have a AMD Turion 64 x 2 TL - 58 laptop, and it is very fast compared some intel models. but over all, Intel is Coke, AMD is Pepsi. Athlon is comparable to like Intel Celeron, which are slower. Turion is comparable to the Core Duo technology. if price is a factor, then go ahead and get the AMD Athlon over the Intel Celeron.you have to look at the MHz and bus speeds to really

Then, Intel abandoned Netburst and modernized the P6 core into what we now know as the Core Solo and Core 2 Duo processor. The Core Solo was niceBurst architecture had de-emphasized FPU power in favor of special instructions SSE, 2, 3. This is partly the reason so many gamers ditched their Pentium 4/D computers in favor of AMD Athlon64 processors and its more
