No.i don't think so that Irfan should play up the order anymore.We need a solid start by our top and middle order and we have constantly seen that this deadly experiment has just initiated collapses in the batting order.We indians cannot experiment with him lest we blow our team up if it goes wrong!!!

Irfans role is that of an all rounder and that of a pinch hitter.I feel in the current form robin uthappa should be made to play up the order and let pathan handle the slog overs and let him settle down in one position and develop his batting rather being moved up & down the order like a shuttlecock.Let him play at a position he is known to score runs and let him settle there.

I think he is perfect at his place, if the team is really in bad condition there will be still hope just because of his presence, by looking at his recent performances, i suggest tat there should not b any change in his batting order, after al i think we have a perfect all rounder under construction.

Pathan should always play down the order whenever the India team is chasing down a small total. Sometimes Pathan could be used at the top of the order for slogging the ball in order to chase down a huge score, or when India is batting on a flat track of the subcontinent, where the ball hardly does anything. Though I strongly believe Pathan should bat at number 7, and that is where he will contribue the most form his bat. Increasing failures with the bat from Pathan at the top of the order wil also affect his bowling, like it did under Greg Chappell.

NO...Pathan is more useful lower down the order…sending him at the top would put unwanted pressure on him. We don’t want to see him loose his bowling rhythm again…

Pathan is a handy batsman. But his primary job is bowling. Though he made some runs in few matches at no.3 but moving him up in the batting order will have an impact on his bowling. Plus he is an attacking batsman lower down the order. He can make some quick fire camios which can swing a match into India's favour. So, I don't think it's a good idea to play him up the order.
