Should Irfan Pathan play up the order?  

No.He can be used as a pinch hitter but not a regular one down batsman.He will be ideal maybe 6 down ie at number 7 or 8 in batting order.

Not as frequently as he was being made to till recently.With him down the order we are assured of a good batsman lower down the order.

he doesnt find himself as an all-rounder
so why always promoting him up the order ,, when we are sheerly wasting robin by makin him play at no.8

so i wud say ,, irfan is doin good wid his bowling & to use him as a hitter let him play down the order only & he wud be useful in slog overs too

He is not much ready to play.First he should be given some tips to bat on Australian pitches.There are much more who can play good on Australian pitches and also with the new ball

no, he should not play up the order b'case it disturb the whole batting order. He can bat well but in the lower order.
finally i say that if he cont. play at no. 3 his batting as well as bowling will be effected morly.

No. Not on these australian pitches. You could try him in tests in India

I think irfan should bat in 3rd down but he should concentrate in his bowling he is a good allrounder after kapil dev for india

Irfan is such a useful arsenal. But the thing is how much Indians can exploit the resources they are gifted. cricket is a team game. And i dont think here we have anything working in direction of a group effort, its only celebrating individual achievements. I think every player has got one or good traits and talent and they must be used judiciously. Irfan, Ishant, ganguly, sachin, RP, dhoni, raina they all should be given rotaion ,allowed time to rest and play again. Irfan is very precious but he must be not overused. He is an allrounder which are multi purpose tools for any team. but again hey shudnt be force to slog at every given opportunity. This man is very solid but he can also be used at 6th or 6th down. Uthappa, yuvraj Kaif, can also be used at this spot once and often. pleaze dont zeopardize the very gem of bowling skill of Pathan coaxing him for a batter. This has once cost him a lot. Let him be a bowler and then a batter.

I think Irfan Pathan does have the technique to play at the top also if he is properly nurtured he could be another Kapil in the making. He has good range of shots and more importantly has good defense. rather than having a batsman coming at No. 7 team should develop another player like dhoni and pathan for No. 6,7 & 8.
