There is no specified age for a child to browse net. I would advice that you know the maturity level of your child so be friendly with him and keep him updated on what is good for him and what is not. If you don't allow him to browse him on net he will be more eager to do so and may do the same without your knowledge. Remember today's children are more smarter than us.

Basic computers are taught to a child from the time he is in primary school and smaller classes. You must introduce your child to the internet when you think he/she is big enough to handle the sudden exposure and take it seriously.

interesting question. but at the same time, you have not told us what is the age of your son. with the world talking about web2.0, and the education now on the net, a child can be introduced to internet right from class one. As a good parent, you can teach your son to visit the right sites, much as you would tell him what is good and what is bad in real life. if the kid is 3-7 years no need. but the question arise when your child get mature enough to surf freely. no doubt in schooling also net is very helpful to get the information but at same time how to avoid such a situation where your child should not develop interest
in the area where he is not mature enough to handle it
