i have downloaded a movie from a warez site it has an extension .001 file? what should i do to get the original file?

the extension .001 is a part of original file that is divided into multiple parts. you need to have all parts saved at one location in your drive. you can use "hjspit " software to join these files .

i dont think thats a legitimate extention...even if so, converting will be impossible...

Well it is the first part of that movie only. You will need all the parts of the movie too be able to extract and view this part when they all merge. Or else find the full movie in one file or pack. All are available in warez.
