DD + is a Direct to Home service launched by Doordarshan for viewing certain TV channels and radio stations which is broadcasted by certain companies Star, Zee, Sony and as well Doordarshan itself without charging any fees to the customers. All the channels broadcasted on this network are free and there is no monthly subscription an owner of Doordarshan's DD+ dish.

DD Direct plus is a direct to home television enterianment of Doordarshan. The total capacity for DD Direct+ is 51 televison and 24 radio channels. It competes with cable television and other DTH Service providers such as Dish TV, Tata Sky, Sun Direct, Airtel digital TV and Big TV throughout India.
