What is UDDI please explain?

Asked by Abhijit Naya in Computers & Technology at   9:30 AM on January 19, 2009

Shishir's Answer

UDDI (Universal Description Discovery and Integration) is a protocol that allows businesses to promote, use, and share services over the Internet. It is an OASIS Standard, which is supported by several major technology companies. Members include Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, Avaya, Sun Microsystems, and others.

The UDDI protocol serves as a foundational tool that allows businesses to find each other and complete transactions quickly and easily. Companies that use the UDDI protocol can extend their market reach and find new customers while also finding other businesses that offer useful services to them. Because UDDI uses a standard format for describing business services, it is easy to search and find useful services offered from other businesses.

What is Veronica please explain?

Asked by Abhijit Naya in Computers & Technology at   9:29 AM on January 19, 2009

Shishir's Answer

The name Veronica actually stands for "Very Easy Rodent-Oriented Netwide Index to Computerized Archives."The "rodent" part of the acronym refers to how the Veronica utility allows you to search all of the world's gopher servers using keywords. After searching for the terms, Veronica displays a list of gopher menus and articles containing the key words you searched for. The more recent versions of Veronica can also search certain Web pages, newsgroups, and FTP sites.

Unlike most search engines, Veronica searches for keywords only in gopher server menu titles, and doesn't look throught the entire text of documents. When searching with Veronica, you can use the logical operators AND, NOT, and OR to help narrow your search. Also, typing an asterisk (*) at the end of a word will match anything starting with that word.

Explain the term Hover?

Asked by Abhijit Naya in Computers & Technology at   11:16 PM on December 16, 2008

Shishir's Answer

When you roll the cursor over a link on a Web page, it is often referred to as "hovering" over the link. This is somewhat like when your boss hovers over you at work, but not nearly as uncomfortable. In most cases, the cursor will change from a pointer to a small hand when it is hovering over a link. Web developers can also use cascading style sheets (CSS) to modify the color and style of link when a user hovers over it. For example, the link may become underlined or change color while the cursor is hovering over it.

The term hovering implies your computer screen is a three-dimensional space. In this conception, your cursor moves around on a layer above the text and images. When you click the mouse button while the cursor is hovering over a link, it presses down on the link to activate it. Hovering can also be used in a more general sense such as moving the cursor over icons, windows, or other objects on the screen.

What is PRAM please explain?

Asked by Abhijit Naya in Computers & Technology at   9:49 AM on December 18, 2008

Shishir's Answer

PRAM (Parameter Random Access Memory) is a type of memory found in Macintosh computers that stores system settings. These settings include display settings (like screen resolution and color depth), the time zone setting, speaker volume, and the startup volume choice. The system settings that are stored in the computer's PRAM differ from Mac to Mac, but the purpose of the memory remains the same.

If your Macintosh is behaving erratically or is not booting up all the way, you may want to try resetting the PRAM. You can reset or "zap" the PRAM on a Mac by pressing and holding the Command, Option, P, and R keys right as you turn the computer on. Yes, there are four keys you need to hold down at the same time. Once your hear the startup chime a second time, the PRAM has been reset and you can release the keys.

Note that if you choose to zap your PRAM, you may need to set your display, time zone, startup volume, and other affected settings using System Preferences. Some firmware updates may reset your PRAM as part of their installation process, which will means you will have to reset the affected settings after the installation.

Possible treatments for reducing scars are

If you have sandalwood, you can use that paste to get rid of your scars
A mixture of sandalwood paste and black gram paste also works handy for this problem
Rubbing your skin with ice cubes helps to tighten the skin and give you a younger look
Sandalwood paste mixed with rose water and kept overnight on your scars provides you the needed results.
You can use cucumber and lemon juice on your scars.

These can be very fruitful depending how dark your scars are.
If you can't find cucumber you could also use honey and lemon juice, but people with oily skin should not use honey.

What is the translation of HARE RAM or HARE KRISHN

Asked by Vijay Kayal in Puja & Rituals at   8:43 AM on October 13, 2008

Shishir's Answer

The word Hara, is a form of addressing the energy of the Lord. Both Krishna and Rama are a form of addressing directly the Lord, and they mean the highest pleasure, Eternal. Hara is the Supreme Pleasure Potency of the lord. This potency when addressed as Hari, helps us in reaching the Supreme Lord. The material energy called as Maya, is also one of the multi-potencies of the Lord, as much as we are also marginal potencies of the Lord. The living entities are described as superior energy than matter. When the superior energy is in contact with the inferior energy, it becomes an incompatible situation, but when the Supreme Marginal Potency is in contact with Spiritual Potency, Hara, it becomes the happy, normal condition of living entity. The three words, namely, Hara, Krishna, and Rama, are transcendental seeds of the Maha-mantra, and the chanting is spiritual call for the Lord, and His internal energy, Hara, for giving protection to the conditioned soul. The chanting is exactly like genuine crying by the child for mother. Mother Hara helps in achieving the Grace of the Supreme Father, Hari, or Krishna, and the Lord reveals Himself to such sincere Devotee.

What are Nadis?

Asked by unmand singh in Puja & Rituals at   7:27 PM on October 20, 2008

Shishir's Answer

Nadis are thought to carry a life force energy known as prana in Sanskrit.Nadis are not nerves but rather channels for the flow of consciousness. The literal meaning of nadi is'flow'. Just as the negative and positive forces of electricity flow through complex circuits, in the same way, pram shako (vital force) and manas shako (mental force) flow through every part of our body via these nadis. According to the tantras there are 72,000 or more such channels or networks through which the stimuli flow like an electric current from one point to another.

The word nadi comes from the Sanskrit root nad meaning "channel", "stream", or "flow". The rhythmical breathing and special breathing techniques are supposed to influence the flow of these nadis or energetic currents. According to this kind of interpretation (which is the Yoga interpretation) the breathing techniques will purify and develop these two energetic currents and will lead to breathing special exercises whose goal is to awake kundalini.
