look swati, in normal delivery no active surgical intervention is there usually. In some cases( particularly in primigravida, i.e., those who is pregnant for the first time), episiotomy ( cutting part of labia, i.e., external side-wall of vagina,by a scissor) only is needed. this is nothing but like a cut-injury over skin anywhere in the body. u know a cut-injury on skin when stitched up, needs almost very little time to heal. but in caesarian section , the total thickness of the abdomen and uterus is to be cut through and that is much wide as to extract the baby. and anaesthesia is essential preceding this operation. a huge blood loss also takes place. so, it takes time to recover.
