How to decide the percentage of Glycolic peel to be used for a particular skintype?

Asked by HINA JUNEJA in Beauty & Fashion at   3:05 PM on September 21, 2008

NEVIDITA's Answer

Well,

Glycolic acid peels can range from 20% - 70% depending on the sensitivity of the skin and how severe the problem is.

It depends at the rate at which skin cells renew themselves slows down. It takes on average 28 days for there to be a turnover of cells on young person and 35 for older people. The result is the surface of the skin becomes blocked clogged with dead roughened skin cells.

Application of Gycolic Acid Peels loosens the glue like substance that binds skin cells together. So allowing new skin to surface more quickly and easily. It may also have an effect on acne conditions by unblocking follicles which lead to acne conditions. The new skin may also have a more rejuvenated look producing a more even colour and smoother texture.

An additional benefit of glycolic peels is continous use of these peels may increase cell turnover and improve the production of collagen ( the protein in the skin that prevents the skin from wrinkling and saggaing).

When used on the skin it result mild exfoliating peel. When applied to the skin Glycolic acid peels the top most surface of the skin.
Glycolic applications can be done in a beauty salon or using an glycolic acid home peel kit. Obviously in salon treatments use a higher percentage of glycolic acid for glycolic peels.
Salon treatments because of short time duration are sometimes called lunchtime peels. The can be complete in about 15-20 minutes, and can be repeated every 1-2 weeks.

Gycolic Acid Peels would benefits the following skin conditions to reveal a bright smoother skin texture

* Sun damaged skin
* Rough keratinised skin
* Finely lined skin
* Age spots on hands and face
* Brown marks
* Hyperpigmentation
* Can also improve acne prone skins

What is "Lollywood"? I have never heard of it before

Asked by KABIR RIBAK in Movies at   1:00 AM on August 19, 2008

NEVIDITA's Answer

"Lollywood" is Pakistani film industry based in the city of Lahore. The name is a portmanteau of the city's initial with Hollywood. The word "Lollywood" was first coined in the summer of 1989 in the now defunct magazine "Glamour" published from Karachi by a gossip columnist Saleem Nasir. Sameena Jaffry was the editor and Iqbal Munir was the publisher of the magazine. Saleem Nasir intended this as a joke to emulate Bollywood. The word Lollywood was then picked up by Urooj Samdani, a film journalist, who wrote an article about the Pakistani film industry in Women's Own Magazine.

The film industry in Lahore started in 1929 with the opening of the United Players' Studios on Ravi Road. The cornerstone for the studio was set by Abdur Rashid Kardar. Since then the studio has managed various indigenous productions competing with other film production centres in the undivided India, namely Bombay and Calcutta.

After the partition of India, Lahore was the only film production centre in the newly-found Pakistan and in its infancy released the first film on 7 August 1948 title Teri Yaad. Since then, film production centres have been opened in the cities of Karachi and Peshawar.

Is Hritik Roshan the best actor of his generation? What is his best film?

Asked by KABIR RIBAK in Movies at   4:09 PM on August 18, 2008

NEVIDITA's Answer

Yes, he is best in his generation, and I think he is a superb actor.

Hrithik Roshan, the stunning star . He enchanted billions with his debut 'Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai' directed by his father Rakesh Roshan. It was his hazel eyes, striking personality, awesome smile, bulging biceps, dominating physique and extra ordinary dance skill that made both girls and boys drool for him. A Hrithik mania was storming in and around India after KNPH. He got the best male debut and best actor awards for the film. He was voted the finest actor of his generation by many. Hrithik is one of the few actors who believes that it is purely hard work that makes way for success.

I think "Lakshya "and " Kaho na pyaar hai" are his best movie.

Which Madhuri Dixit movie do you think was best?

Asked by KABIR RIBAK in Movies at   1:25 PM on August 06, 2008

NEVIDITA's Answer

Story of how an ideal college school student's life turns towards acid path of crime.

This is the movie which ripened Madhuri's performance, especially with the popular number Ek, Do, Teen, and the rest is history.

The story starts with that song followed by her kidnapping, by Kiran Kumar's extraordinary portrayal of Lotiya Pathan. So Anil Kapoor, who is banned from the city limits, is informed and he is coaxed by his friends to go and rescue her.

And so we go in the past of how Anil & Madhuri fell in love in their school days. How their college life is progressing and what makes the hell break loose on them.

The other numbers in the movie So Gaya Yeh Jahen ., and Kahe Do Ke Tum Ho Meri Varna . are good.

Chunkey Pandey, playing Anil's sidekick and Anupam Kher playing Madhuri's father also bring out and outstanding performance.

Again being a N. Chandra movie, it is pretty violent at times. Highly recommended for very less nonsense and sticking to the story plo
