I read that Dhoni's took the powerplay at correct time and tat led to india's victory. What is that . i dont understand. Can anyone explain?

Asked by Prasanth Raj in Cricket & Other Sports at   12:38 PM on November 21, 2008

Jateen Gutta's Answer

Yes Prasanth, it was a very skillful move by Dhoni as he took the power play at the right time when he and Yuvraaj felt that the runs tempo needs to be up lifted and hence they opted to select the power play at a very right time and showed he has immense talent.

The power play which Dhoni took was the third power play and the new rule suggests that the third power play has to be taken by the batting captain when ever he feels like he wants to. This new rule has come along with new regulations as in untill and unless the second powerplay is not taken by the fielding captain the third powerplay which is to be selected by the batting team cannot be taken by them.

In simple words the third power comes after second and batting team can take it whenever they feel like after the completion of second. I personally felt the right time to take the third powerplay which Dhoni choose was perfect as the match was going to affected as the sunlight was getting worse and the D/L method would defiantly come into play.

As the result India won by 16 runs off D/L method.

India already won 3 ODI's, who will next?

Asked by Prashant in Cricket & Other Sports at   5:49 PM on November 20, 2008

Jateen Gutta's Answer

Prashant, I feel Indians are going to totally white wash the England team, as according the way they are playing the form in which every players is will make sure the team will win each and every match. If just they don't do anything stupid here on.

Dhoni is very much up on his toes when it comes to think smartly, he makes and plans things very smartly in the matches he plays. In this particular match as well we saw him taking the power at the time when he knew some runs are required as the D/L method would defiantly come into play. Hence he at first coming on crease got himself in as the runs on board were quite enough, and after that he opted for power play 3 in which Yuvraj and he made full use of the field restrictions.

This being the third win in the series makes Indians on a very comfortably situation as they just need to win a match to get the series home. England will need to win all 4 matches here on as they cannot afford to loose one more match at any cost.

I personally feel in the end it will be a 7-0 win by Indians.

Will Kanpur Ground Support Spinners or Fast Bowlers For Tomorrow match ?

Asked by Prasanth Raj in Cricket & Other Sports at   10:03 PM on November 19, 2008

Jateen Gutta's Answer

yesh Kanpur ground is a spinning track and the ball will spin out of the ruff and spin a long way back. Only if bowlers will bowl at bad length the batsmen will not be able to play. Or else it will be the bowlers who will enjoy bowling in this pitch.

Kanpur as it is a very dry surface and crack will get wider as the match progresses with sun at the most peek, it will be advisable to bat first score some runs and defend it by bowling tight lines.

This should be the strategy by any captain playing at most of the Indian pitches, as the sun gets really hard in the afternoon the cracks start getting wider and wider. Helping the bowlers with assistance to bowl outside off stump and get turn or jam the ball back in towards the batsmen.

who will be the man of the series between india australia!

Asked by Ima Yan in Cricket & Other Sports at   8:31 PM on November 06, 2008

Jateen Gutta's Answer

Sachin Tendulkar now has a very good chance of clinging the man of the series award once again as he has performed in every test with fifties and eighties and a hundered in the first innings of this test match.

If he plays well in the second innings as well then we can be sure of him taking the award from G.Gambhir as he is the leading run scorer as of now in this series. Gambhir made the mistake of being physical with S.Watson in the Delhi test which got him a test match ban, and hence he lost the oppoturnity to play in the last test and could also loose on winning the test series award in this very important Border - Gavaskar trophy.

Other contender for the award can be Laxman but he hasn't performed well in the first two test hence he might not be a contender in this series, Australia's S.Katich is also up for the award as he has regularly scored fifties in every innings and also scored a 100 in the first test in the on going last test match at Nagpur.

What movie in any year do you think should have won the National award for best picture but did not?

Asked by KABIR RIBAK in Movies at   2:17 PM on September 24, 2008

Jateen Gutta's Answer

Kabir, Ofr me the movie which should have won the award was Anil Kapoors Nayak.

nayak is a movie which was was some bad luck as well as low publicity. As the time when it got released we had severe problems in India that is of Train Blasts and people were a bit scared to go out and watch the movie.

Since because of this less publicity was been made of the movie and it got adverse effect on the film and also the collection of the movie.

Some of the friends here might not agree but Nayak has a very strong message for our youth to come out and join Politics if and when they get an opportunity.

What song has the best musical intro?

Asked by KABIR RIBAK in Movies at   2:18 PM on September 24, 2008

Jateen Gutta's Answer

Kabir, If purely soundtrack is based then I love the movie Bombay, in which A.R. Rehman had given the music and background scores.

The songs of the movies are very soothing and it’s a best of romance type of music.
The sad songs like ‘Tu he re’ and comic music in the song ‘kuchi kuchi rakhma’ are very well composed and directed.

Its background scores in some scenes is intensified at the best. The time when the twin children get separated from each other as well as parents has a very emotional music touch to it.

What is a Glass Duck in Cricket..?

Asked by Himanshu in Cricket & Other Sports at   12:21 PM on October 06, 2008

Jateen Gutta's Answer

Himanshu,
First of all the term duck is considered as a term for ‘0’ runs as the player got out without scoring a run the term duck is used against him/her.

Now there are different types of duck in cricketing terms which makes it a bit more exciting.
Glass or Golden Duck – It is a term which is used for a player who is dismissed by the first ball they face of their any particular innings whether ODI or Test match.

Diamond Duck – It is a term which is used for a player who is out without facing any ball in all probability a run out is the only way where a player can be out without facing any ball.

Platinum Duck – It is a term which is used for a batsmen who is out on the very first ball of the match so if a player is out on the very first ball of the match he is termed Platinum as well as Golden Duck.

Silver Duck – It is a term which is used for players who get out on the second ball they face in any particular innings.

Pair Duck – It is a term which is used for a player who gets out for duck in both the innings by any means.

King Duck – it is a term which is used for a player who gets out on the very first ball in both the innings of a Test match.

Cricket is the only game which has so many variation is terms of Ducks to be termed for players.

Is M.Vijay right choice of Indian Crictet Team For Test Match?

Asked by Rupesh Kr in Cricket & Other Sports at   5:16 PM on November 06, 2008

Jateen Gutta's Answer

Rupesh,
M.Vijay seem the right choice only time will tell whether he is going to be fruitful and better in his performance.

Not many know but M.Vijay has been scoring good amount of runs in Domestic cricket and was also an upcoming talent for the Indian team after R.Sharma. But his call to play for India came too early for him and he got taken by surprise as he didn't expect it.

The major reason was G.Gambhir missing out on the last match because of his ban on a physical triump with Aussie all rounder S.Watson.
As there was no other choice but to get a specialist opener and M.Vijay had been playing getting amount of runs in the matches he had played in the recent Ranji trouphy hence he was the first choice fro selectors and Dhoni.

He has played under S.Badrinath's captanicy for T.Nadu hence except for him he didn't knew any one else in the entire team of Indian squad.
