i have maruti 800 model 2004, I want to install LPG kit . is it right option for me? any body can help about this regard.

Asked by showkat in Cars & Bikes at   11:19 PM on April 02, 2008

vinoo's Answer

Most cities/towns have many authorized garages who are permitted to fit LPG conversion kits, you could check out the local newspapers or ask around in the neighbourhood garages for such conversions. A word of caution though, make sure that you fit only authorized kits from a reputed dealer/garage. Approach your local RTO for regularization of alternate fuel to complete necessary formalities (most reputed garages/dealers will arrange to get this done and the additional charges will have to be borne by you). (which place are you from and is LPG easily available nearby?)

My Friend having Bike since 12 years . He do not have any documents exept Dri. licence. what type of other documents required?

Asked by naresh in Cars & Bikes at   12:35 PM on April 02, 2008

vinoo's Answer

RC- Registration certificate is a must for any vehicle. How did he acquire the vehicle in the first place? Did he buy it from the showroom directly or did he buy it from a known/unknown person? Without this he cannot even get it insured. By writing to the manufacturer of the vehicle (giving chassis number, engine number, make, model, and year of manufacture) he can obtain details of the showroom from which it was initially dispatched to or sold from (for establishing ownership). After getting all the relevant details he should approach the local RTO (regional transport office) and apply for a duplicate RC. It is an offense to drive any vehicle without proper supporting documents viz; RC, insurance, road tax paid challan/receipt, PUC (pollution under control) and valid driving license. The vehicle can be seized by the transport authorities/police at any time and heavy penalty could be levied on the driver/user of such vehicles.
