From which ved gayati mantra is taken?

Asked Anonymously in Puja & Rituals at   3:30 PM on September 04, 2009

GANGA .'s Answer

Originally the personification of the Gayatri mantra, revered by both Buddhists and Hindus worldwide, the goddess Gāyatrī is considered the veda mata, the mother of all Vedas and also the personification of the all-pervading Parabrahman, the ultimate unchanging reality that lies behind all phenomena. Gayatri Veda Mata is seen by many Hindus to be not just a Goddess, but a portrayal of Brahman himself, in the feminine form. Essentially, the Goddess is seen to combine all the phenomenal attributes of Brahman, including Past, Present and Future as well as the three realms of existence.
The Gayatri Mantra has four feet. The first foot consists of the earth, sky and Heaven. The second foot consists of the Rig Veda, the Yajur Veda and the Sama Veda. The third foot consists of prana, apana and vyana. The fourth foot consists of the sun, the Solar Being.

What or who is KAAL BHAIRAV ? Give information in details, please.?

Asked by Vijay Kayal in Puja & Rituals at   9:50 AM on September 03, 2009

GANGA .'s Answer

The origin of Bhairava can be traced to the conversation between Lord Bramha and Lord Vishnu recounted in "Shiv Maha-Purana" where Lord Vishnu asks Lord Bramha who is the supreme creator of the Universe. Arrogantly, Bramha tells Vishnu to worship him because he (Bramha) is the supreme creator. This angered Shiva who in reality is the creator of all. Shiva then incarnated in the form of Bhairava to punish Bramha. Bhairava beheaded one of Bramha's five heads and since then Bramha has only four heads. When depicted as Kala Bhairava, Bhairava is shown carrying the amputated head of Brahma. Cutting off Brahma's fifth head made him guilty of Brahmanicide, and as a result, he was forced to carry around the head for years until he had been absolved of the sin.

What is the difference between a Nazi and a Hindu SWASTIKA ?

Asked by Vijay Kayal in Puja & Rituals at   6:48 PM on August 30, 2009

GANGA .'s Answer

The swastika is an ancient symbol present in numerous and diverse cultures around the world, including the cultures of India, Asia, the Middle East, Europe and North America.
In India, the swastika has thousands of years of history and still retains its place of pre-eminence among the sub-continent's spiritual symbols. It remains one of the most prominent spiritual symbols in Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism, and is found adorning temples and religious shrines throughout Asia.
After its misuse by the Nazis, it became associated with murder and oppression on a scale never before witnessed on this earth. For this reason, in Europe, for many millions, the swastika came to symbolise evil. There arose, as a result of this, a move to ban the swastika.
The four arms of Hindu Swastika run alternatively horizontally and vertically to the 0 degree plane. It revolves clockwise and doesn't have a background. In contrast, all the four arms of the Nazi Swastika stand angular and tilted to the 0 degree plane. The Nazi symbol is a "square" structure with the Swastika embedded within a red background, which is never seen in a Hindu Swastika.

GANGA .'s Answer

Ramayana is ascribed to a Valmiki, regarded as India's first poet. The Indian tradition, is unanimous in its agreement that the poem is the work of a single poet, the brahman sage Valmiki, a contemporary of Rama and a peripheral actor in the epic drama. The story's original version in Sanskrit is known as Valmiki Ramayana, written around 4th century B.C. According to Hindu tradition, the Ramayana takes place during a period of time, known as Treta Yuga.
