can we make a folder in computer of name con?

Asked by arjun tyagi in Computers & Technology at   11:20 AM on July 31, 2008

KHURSHEED's Answer

Actually you ll have to press the numbers of the number pad or else it wont work. That is, create a new folder, rename it CON but dont press enter yet. Hold down Alt and type 255 on the number pad and then press enter. (for laptop users, fress fn key and press the letter keys k-i-i to make use of the numberpad).

Well ALT+255 stands for a blank character in ASCII so it allows you to use this folder name. Well I consider this part "cheating" but there is one more technique which we can use.

Go to command prompt in your computer and type md\\.\\c:\\con [Note: you can give whtever path you want in place of c:] . Voila the folder is created. Now to delete it, it can done only thru the command prompt. Type rd\\.\\c:\con.

what are body cavities?

Asked by deepthi in Personal Health at   3:44 PM on July 28, 2008

KHURSHEED's Answer

A body cavity can be defined as the space that remains after the organs inside it are removed, but this definition does not do justice to the variety andfunctions of body cavities. Humans have four body cavities: (1) the dorsal body cavity that encloses the brain and spinal cord; (2) the thoracic cavity that encloses the heart and lungs; (3) the abdominal cavity that encloses most of the digestive organs and kidneys; and (4) the pelvic cavity that encloses the bladder and reproductive organs. The cranial cavity cushions and protects the brain within a rigid skull. The other body cavities also cushion internal organs, but instead of being rigid, they have to be flexible for the heart, lungs, digestive organs, and reproductive organs to expand.

In humans all but the cranial cavity develop from the coelom (pronounced SEE-lum). A coelom is a cavity that is entirely enclosed within cells derived from the middle layer of embryonic tissue. A few groups of animals, such as roundworms (Nematoda), have a body cavity that is only partly enclosed by tissue from the middle layer. Such a body cavity is called a pseudocoelom (pronounced SOO-doe-SEE-lum). In a few other groups, such as flatworms (Platyhelminthes), there is no body cavity.

functions of skin?

Asked by deepthi in Personal Health at   3:43 PM on July 28, 2008

KHURSHEED's Answer

HI
FUNCTIONS OF SKIN :

Protective barrier:

As the body's largest organ the skin serves as a waterproof covering that prevents excessive loss or gain of bodily moisture, that helps keep out pathogens (agents such as a bacterium or fungus, that cause disease), and provides a barrier against invasion by outside organisms. The skin protects underlying tissues and organs from abrasion and other injury, and its pigments shield the body from the dangerous ultraviolet rays in sunlight.

Regulator of body temperature:

It also helps human body to maintain normal temperature: its numerous sweat glands excrete waste products along with salt-laden moisture, the evaporation of which may account, in certain circumstances, for as much as 90% of the cooling of the body; its fat cells act as insulation against cold; and when the body overheats, the skin's extensive small blood vessels carry warm blood near the surface where it is cooled.

Human skin has remarkable self-healing properties, particularly when only the epidermis is damaged. Even when the injury damages the dermis, healing may still be complete if the wounded area occurs in a part of the body with a rich blood supply. Deeper wounds, penetrating to the underlying tissue, heal by scar formation. Scar tissue lacks the infection-resisting and metabolic functions of healthy skin; hence, sufficiently extensive skin loss by widespread burns or wounds may cause death.

What is the longest amount of time (or days) that you've gone without food?? How long can the body survive with no food?

Asked by KABIR RIBAK in Personal Health at   5:30 PM on July 27, 2008

KHURSHEED's Answer

Hi
I didn't eat for six days and was fine. I don't recommend it though, you just gain a lot of weight when you do eat. Just eat a lot of low cal foods, it works a lot better.

The human body can go for an extended period of time without food (but not without water), especially if you have some body fat. People have gone for two weeks or more.

Note that is not safe, and it is not an effective method of dieting. Your body will consume its own muscles for energy, your metabolism will be altered, and there will be other problems.

What do you do to make yourself feel better when you feel depressed?

Asked by KABIR RIBAK in Personal Health at   1:52 PM on July 27, 2008

KHURSHEED's Answer

Hi .i take take medicament to make myself feel better when i feel depressed.. There are a variety of antidepressant medications and psychotherapies that can be used to treat depressive disorders. Some people with milder forms may do well with psychotherapy alone. People with moderate to severe depression most often benefit from antidepressants. Most do best with combined treatment: medication to gain relatively quick symptom relief and psychotherapy to learn more effective ways to deal with life's problems, including depression. Depending on the patient's diagnosis and severity of symptoms, the therapist may prescribe medication and/or one of the several forms of psychotherapy that have proven effective for depression.

KHURSHEED's Answer

Hi

Saliva is drying, so the more you lick your lips, the drier they get. Start applying Vaseline regularly to your lips, and dont lick them at all. Also, you can try applying ghee at night to your lips. This should help, and gradually your lower lip will normalise.
