For a healthy normal adult a minimum of 2500 Calories per day is required.( For those who physically work hard required up to 3000 calories per day )
Time............................... ..............................Menu for 2500 calories.
1) 6 am................................. ........Tea / coffee / milk with sugar 100 ml
2) 8-9 am (Breakfast )...........Idli / dosa / appam 5 nos or puttu one kutti /Uppuma 2 ciups,samba /
kadala curry-3/4 cup,egg-1,tea / coffee / milk 100 ml with sugar.
3) 10-11am ............................Lime juice / butter milk /veg.soup -1 cup / cooked veg / salads. 2 cups
4) 12-1 pm (Lunch ).............Cookrd rice / noodles-2 cups or chappathi / dosa 4 nos,sambar /
dhal 3/4 cup,fish / chicken 2 pieces(100 gms) or soya / pulse 100 gms
cooked veg-2 cups,salad -1 cup,rassam / butter milk 1 cup,raitha / curd
pachadi-100ml and one banana or 100 gms of any fruits.
5) 4-5 pm( tea time )..........Tea / coffee with 100 ml milk one cup,biscuit-3 / bread 2 slice
6) 8-9 pm ( dinner )...........Cooked rice / noodles -2 cups, or chappathi / dossa=-3 nos,fish / chicken
100 gms or soya / pulse-100 gms,cooked veg-2 cups,salad -1 cup and
fruits 100 gns or one banana.
7) 10 pm (Bed time )....... Warm.Milk ( diluted )with sugar 100 ml.
NB:- 5 to 6 tsp of oil per day can have.
