The Wankhede Stadium is in Mumbai. It is named after Barrister Sheshrao Wankhede, former President of BCCI. Wankhede Stadium is the official stadium of the Mumbai Cricket Association. Earlier Mumbai Ranji Trophy matches were being played at the Brebourne Stadium which belongs to the CCI. There was a dispute between MCA and CCI regarding sharing of the tickets. So Barrister Wankhede took the initiative and built the Wankhede Stadium.
