what is the best way to stay cool in office

Asked by bapi mahanta in Personal Health at   5:40 PM on April 23, 2008

Rekha's Answer

3 things NOT to do

There are also some things you should avoid doing.

1: Don’t vent
Common knowledge holds that when you’re angry, you should vent to get it off your chest. Interestingly, studies indicate that venting just makes us even angrier.

2: Don’t try to justify your anger
When you’re feeling angry don’t waste time and energy justifying it - either to yourself or others.

Well that guy was a jerk at the staff meeting and the way I was treated in the last reorg was totally unfair and my manager still hasn’t apologized and some guy cut me off in traffic on the way home and…

You’re angry, that’s enough. You don’t have to list all the reasons why you’re angry. Again, that just makes you even angrier.

A lump in breast can be a benign tumor. You will have to get a Mammography done & a FNAC test done to rule out cancer. If it is cancer then treatment depends on the stage of growth.

how 2 deal with premature ejaculation

Asked by Amit Kumar in Personal Health at   1:18 PM on April 22, 2008

Rekha's Answer

Premature ejaculation is the most common sexual problem in men. Alfred Kinsey, the famous American father of sexology, found during the string of studies conducted between 1948 and 1953 that three quarters of men ejaculate within the first two minutes of penetration in more than 50 percent of their sexual encounters. An estimated 30 percent of all men are unable to control their ejaculation in most sexual encounters. This makes premature ejaculation a huge problem for many men and couples. Actually, the problem with premature ejaculation is that it spoils all the fun for both partners. Nobody wants to put an end to a pleasurable activity too early.

Most of those suffering from premature ejaculation are younger men, who have less control over their bodies and less experience. Nearly every man has been unable to control himself at least once during his sex life and almost always during the first sexual encounter when lack of experience makes holding back difficult. However, severe cases of premature ejaculation do not go away on their own, but continue well into the adult years. The results of this weakness on the physical side of sex tend to spill over into the psychological side, undermining confidence and self esteem and triggering patterns of depression.

It’s perfectly clear that inexperience is one of the biggest causes of premature ejaculation, followed by a weak PC muscle and a faster than normal neurological response in the pelvic muscles. Well, inexperience can only be cured with more sex, which is something we heartily recommend to everybody, while the muscles located in the pelvic area can be trained as any other muscle in the body to stop acting on their own. The PC muscle stands for the pubococcygeus muscle. This muscle acts as floor to the entire pelvic area of the body, supporting from underneath the weight of organs. It also controls orgasm and prolonged exercising helps men achieve orgasm without ejaculating.

Still, premature ejaculation can be prevented or treated by working out the PC muscle and bringing it under your control. When you have full control of this muscle, premature ejaculation is no longer a problem for you. Penis exercises, like Kegels or those featured in the Penis Health database, focus on ejaculation control at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels for people who are willing to rid themselves of this unfortunate condition once and for all. The trick is to have confidence in yourself and in your strength to make premature ejaculation a thing of the past.

What you will do immediately if someone in your home got a heart attack ?

Asked by akramnirala in Personal Health at   3:12 PM on April 22, 2008

Rekha's Answer

A heart attack is also known as a myocardial infarction (MI), and accounts for around 10% of all deaths and over half of all sudden deaths. Over a million people a year are suffering from heart attacks, and around 50% of these die within the first year post-MI. High risk groups are those over 50 years of age. A heart attack is caused by a clot in a major artery which blocks oxygen and blood supply to the heart, and therefore results in death of part of the heart muscle. It is extremely important to recognise the signs of a heart attack as treatment is more successful the earlier it is given, and must be given within 12 hours for a favourable response.
Common signs and symptoms:-
Chest pain- central crushing unbearable chest pain which persists for a long period of time.

Pain also spreads to other parts of the body especially the neck, shoulders and arms. One may also experience numbness in the jaw area.
Other signs present are shortness of breath, dizziness and collapse due to lack of oxygen. Patient may appear sweaty and pale, and be vomiting, anxious, and have an irregular heartbeat.
The problem is that these signs are not identical in everyone who has a heart attack, and indeed some people will experience more symptoms than others. Unfortunately some people may not have any symptoms at all and therefore may not seek treatment until it is too late. A MI can also be misdiagnosed as indigestion, so therefore an electrocardiogram and a troponin blood test are used to confirm a suspected MI.
It is important if you experience any of these signs to see a clinician urgently.

Steps to decrease risk:-
If you are a smoker you should quit. Quitting greatly decreases risk
Lower high blood pressure. You can do this by taking relevant medication for hypertension, through suitable weight loss and exercise.
Reduce high cholesterol levels and low density lipoprotein levels by cutting out fatty foods such as chocolate, crisps, and cakes, and eating products low in saturated fat such as oily fish.
Diabetics are at an increased risk and therefore they should aim to maintain glucose control and lose weight.
Reduce stress. This can be done through practices such as yoga or other exercise.
If you are overweight lose weight. Follow a healthy diet and exercise in order to achieve a healthy weight.
If you do not exercise you should start and aim for a brisk 30 minute walk five times a week. Exercise has many benefits.

To care for oily skin you should start with a gentle, foaming facial wash. This will remove dirt and oil without stripping away moisture.

Tips

* Make a pulp of fresh tomatoes, apply to the skin

* Mix half teaspoon honey with egg white and one teaspoon lemon juice. Add fuller’s earth ( Multani Mitti ) or brewer’s yeast powder. Mix into a paste and apply. Remove after 20 minutes with water.

how to reduce sweat in summer?

Asked by lakshmi teja in Personal Health at   4:06 PM on April 22, 2008

Rekha's Answer

. People working in moderately hot conditions for 10 hrs on average will lose between 4.8 and 6 g of sodium (Na) equivalent to 12–15 g of salt (NaCl) depending on acclimatisation. However due to the substantial interindividual variation in sweat rate and sodium concentration individual losses may be much higher. This essential electrolyte must be replaced in order to avoid fluid imbalances, thus eating during the shift is a must.

2. One work session in the heat, for an acclimatised person is sufficient to activate sodium-conserving mechanisms. However in the unacclimatised worker longer exposure is required. A worker starting work in harsh conditions should be given 10 days or more to acclimatise before performing heavy manual work in the heat.

3. Cordials and sports drinks are contra-indicated for people working in hot environments due to the very high energy content. An ideal fluid replacement beverage for industrial use should have significant sodium content with minimum carbohydrate.
