This is the outcome of Indian aping mentality. On one side we sing paeans on our Rich heritage and culture and on the other side we treat our daughters in one way and daughters on law in another way. With This hypocrisy clubbed with aping mentality kept us in a position which is neither western or eastern.In addition to this,irresponsible parents who neither have the knowledge nor the time to bring up their children.All the above conditions contribute to heinous crimes like ragging and campus violence.

This incapable government could not make adequate woman representation in the parliament even after 60 years of independence. Even in urban areas women are being subjected to atrocities.god alone knows the extent of atrocities on women in rural ares.And you are talking of Upliftment?
