To do any form of activity or work this also includes exercise you require energy. Body can produce energy in presence of oxygen. our body is alos capable of producing a small amount of energy even in the absence of oxygen. Exercise which can be done in absence of oxgen are refered to as anaerobic exercise. Anaerobic form of exercise can be done for shorter duration as the energy produced in absence of oxygen is little. An example of anaerobic exercise would be a 100mts sprint.
