A gateway is a network point that acts as an entrance to another network. On the Internet, a node or stopping point can be either a gateway node or a host (end-point) node.
A device that interconnects networks with different, incompatible communications protocols. A network point that manages all the data traffic of your network, as well as to the Internet and connects one network to another.a computer or a network device that allows packets of data to travel from one network to another. It will relay or translate information between networks of different types, such IP and ISDN.
