Mansi Saini's Answer
As the region suffers from ethnopolitical movement for years, there has been tribal identity and ethnic conflicts in North-east India. Several of ethnic components like ULFA, NSCN, ATTF and NDFB have been causing serious social and political conflicts in the region since independence.
Thus, North-east India can not be called to be extremely safe for travellers. There is risk to traveler’s security while visiting north-east India, especially some of its states like Tripura, Nagaland and Manipur. Some kind of consular advice is necessary before visiting here, as it might help you greatly knowing the present status of the place you are going to visit.
Some health precaution have to be taken before coming to the region, as Himalayan hills and dense forests are pervasive throughout. Travelers, especially from western countries, might encounter minor health problems like stomach disorder and fever. It is best to carry some medicine as prescribed by medical practitioner.
