I want to be Model . what should i have to do ? whom i have to meet ? i doesn't have any kind of knowledge about how to be a model ? thanks in advance?

Asked by Dinesh Senja in Beauty & Fashion at   11:55 AM on May 05, 2009

Payal Mehra's Answer

Here are the tips on how to start modelling, how to make the right choices and what to expect from the industry.

Despite the glamour and hype you have seen about the modelling profession, it's hard work. It's boring (sometimes). It's tedious. It's filled with rejection, ups and downs, It's a lifestyle, not an 8-5 job. Not all jobs pay well. Unless you are seriously committed about modelling, willing to work at it on your own time, live a healthy life style, etc., you will not succeed as a model. You have to understand that there are many people who want to be models. They are doing everything they can to be successful. Are you willing to put the time and energy into competing with these people, 24 hrs a day?

Do you have inner stamina to be a model?
Are you tall and slender and unusually attractive enough that you are as good or better looking than most other models? You also need to have the tenancy, patience, aptitude, interpersonal skills, communication skills, stamina, confidence, business skills, etc.? If you think you do, then you can try to be a model. Modelling can be fun, exciting, and adventurous. Be sure to maintain realistic expectations however, the chances of becoming a successful or famous model are less. Famous models: Recently we had Marc Robinson, Bipsha basu now it's Priyanka Chopra & Ashhwarya Rai, there are not many at the top!
.
Measurements
The best measurements for modelling are 5'9" , 34b bust, 24" waist, 34" hips. If you are within one inch of these measurements you are fit to model almost anything. High Fashion models are typically 5'7" to 6' tall and an extremely thin size 7 with 32-35" bust, 22-25" waist and 33-36" hips. They are not necessarily classically beautiful. PETITE measurements would be 5'5" to 5'8" tall and a size 5 to 7. The model MUST have a well proportioned body. PLUS SIZE models are 5'7" to 5'11" tall and wear a size 12 to 14, have a well toned and proportioned body with a thin face, good skin and beautiful hair. Always provide very accurate measurements to the agency and to customers. (Helps to save embarrassment if you get hired for a job and the clothes don't fit because you were not honest). For a man, heights should be 5'11" to 6'2" and you must fit in a 40-42" jacket.

I need information related to out of body experience and near death experience.?

Asked by Vikram Gupta in Exams, Education & References at   9:20 AM on May 02, 2009

Payal Mehra's Answer

An out-of-body experience (OBE or sometimes OOBE), is an experience that typically involves a sensation of floating outside of one's body and, in some cases, perceiving one's physical body from a place outside one's body (autoscopy). The term out-of-the-body experience was introduced in 1943 by G.N.M Tyrrell in his book Apparitions, and adopted by, for example, Celia Green and Robert Monroe as a bias-free alternative to belief-centric labels such as "astral projection" or "spirit walking". Though the term usefully distances researchers from scientifically problematic concepts such as the soul, scientists still know little about the phenomenon. One in ten people has an out-of-body experience at some time in their lives. OBEs are often part of the near-death experience, and reportedly may also lead to astral projection. Those who have experienced OBEs sometimes claim to have observed details which were unknown to them beforehand.

Whats is the difference between interior designing and interior decoration?

Asked Anonymously in Exams, Education & References at   11:04 AM on May 02, 2009

Payal Mehra's Answer

Although the terms interior decorating and interior design are similar, and thus are often used interchangeably, there are many differences between the two. If you are considering a career in design, it is extremely important that you understand each title so that you can make the appropriate decision about your education and your career.

Interior Design requires professional experience and training because to truly call yourself an interior designer, you must be certified. There are still people who refer to themselves as interior designers without the proper qualifications, but it is becoming increasingly more difficult to legally do this; in 18 states it is explicitly against the law to call yourself an interior designer if you are not certified. In order to become certified, you must pass an exam administered by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ), which applies to both the U.S. and Canada. After passing this exam, an interior designer must also follow the professional standards set by the American Society of Interior Designers. An interior decorator, on the other hand, is not subject to all of these specifications.
Interior Decorators require no formal education, but in most cases it's necessary. Since this is the case, you could start working as an interior decorator today, but there is still a lot you need to know. Interior decorators typically work with the insides of buildings including homes and businesses and focus mainly on the surface decorations. They may be working with an entire building or just a single room and work to make the space aesthetically pleasing. To do so, interior designers concentrate on space-planning (layout), color schemes, furniture, paint, wallpaper, window coverings, fabrics, flooring, carpeting, lighting, art, etc. Because you are working with clients' living spaces, your main goal as an interior designer should be your client's approval of (and excitement for) your decorations. In order to achieve this, you will need to be able to review and measure space, prepare room layout proposals, obtain cost estimates, present samples to clients, arrange and oversee painting, wallpapering, flooring, etc., select and purchase furnishings and accessories, and much more.
An Interior Designer needs a more specific skill set. Their job can include interior decoration, but also extends to the actual buildings as well. The NCIDQ definition of an interior designer's objective is, "to enhance the function and quality of interior spaces for the purpose of improving the quality of life, increasing productivity, and protecting the health, safety, and welfare of the public." Interior designers can work in homes, office buildings, airport terminals, hospitals, manufacturing plants, government institutions, etc. and must be prepared to: analyze clients' needs, goals, and safety requirements; create working illustrations and specifications in compliance with universal accessibility guidelines and other applicable codes; work closely with other licensed professionals such as mechanics, electricians, and load-bearing designers. Finally, interior designers, who typically work for furniture and home furnishings stores, interior design services and architectural firms, or independently as freelance designers, must explicitly understand: flame spread ratings, smoke toxicity, and fire rating classifications and materials; space planning for public and private facilities; national, state, and local building codes; ergonomics, which is the application of scientific information concerning humans to the design of a space; the quality and quantity of lighting a room requires; and acoustics and sound transmission.
As you can see, interior decoration and interior design can lead you down two very different career paths. It is important to consider which profession suites you best before making a commitment, but by carefully comparing your career and education options you
