He was a Spanish Jesuit missionary. A cofounder of the Jesuit order (1534) with Ignatius of Loyola, he established missionaries in Japan, Ceylon, and the East Indies.
In context of food, i think may be you mean Caviar. That means the roe of a large fish, especially sturgeon, that is salted, seasoned, and eaten as a delicacy or relish.
