Keshto Patel's Answer

If pro moslem anti hindu 2007 Ms. Teesta Setalvad got it....then why question the candidature of Aishwariya rai who is the cultural ambassador of India.

Teesta setalvad is married to a muslim and she has a single agenda to defame hindus as she is on ISI payroll.

Teesta has been described as 'pro-left', and she and husband Javed Anand have described themselves as "very proud of being part of the Left tradition".

Teesta and Javed's publication, Communalism Combat, requested and received funds from the Congress Party, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the Communist Party of India and ten individuals to run advertisements in national dailies attacking the Sangh Parivar, including the Bharatiya Janata Party, before the 1999 Lok Sabha elections.

Teesta has been felicitated by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) for her work done on the Best Bakery case.

She has along wth CPI has bribed witnesses.....she is a DESHDROHI....if she can get it.....why you post your such absurd questions my freind?

Who was the first person in the world, other than a head of state, to be pictured on a stamp?

Asked by premkumar v in Do It Yourself at   7:53 AM on January 26, 2009

Keshto Patel's Answer

In July of 1847 the United States issued its first postage stamp. Fittingly it features Benjamin Franklin. This five-cent stamp was valid for a letter carried under 300 miles. Known as an imperforate (without perforations) issue, it was produced by the gravure printing method on wove paper by Rawdon, Wright, Hatch & Edson.

What foreign country was first to issue Disney stamps?

Asked by premkumar v in Do It Yourself at   7:54 AM on January 26, 2009

Keshto Patel's Answer

Two years later in 1970, the tiny European Republic of San Marino issued a set of stamps showing Mickey, Donald, Goofy Uncle Scrooge and five others including one stamp with a picture of Walt Disney and a scene from "Jungle Book," the last animated film in production when Walt passed away. This was the first time in the history of postage stamps to the best of my knowledge and research that animated characters had appeared on postage stamps. Obviously, the stamps were issued to generate funds for the small country (San Marino in an enclave of Italy is the third smallest state in Europe, somewhere around the size of Washington D.C) since it was highly unlikely that people purchasing the stamps could actually use them for postage outside of San Marino.

When was the Penny Black stamp first issued?

Asked by premkumar v in Do It Yourself at   8:21 AM on January 26, 2009

Keshto Patel's Answer

In May, 1840, the world's first adhesive postage stamps were distributed. With an elegant engraving of the young Queen Victoria, the Penny Black was an immediate success. Refinements, such as perforations to ease the separating of the stamps, would be instituted with later issues.
