How to Wear Animal Prints

Asked by rinku in Beauty & Fashion at   3:47 PM on September 06, 2008

Sree Kutti's Answer

Wear animal prints in classic, conservative lines. A tasteful trench style dress, a simple blouse or a knee-length straight skirt can look very elegant.
Step2Avoid wearing clothing that is too revealing. Short skirts, hotpants, tight pants, or a low-cut top will not look good in animal print.
Step3Wear minimal accessories with animal prints. Because the prints are so busy, accessories fight visually with the pattern. Opt for a simple accessory like a black pair of simple shoes or a simple black belt around a dress. Wear minimal jewelry.
Step4Mix and match the animal print with solid, basic colors only. Black seems to work the best. Dark denim, white, or even a splash of red may look good with animal prints also.
Step5Flatter your figure when wearing animal prints. All over prints look best on very fit figures. Use this to your advantage by drawing attention away from flawed areas with wild prints. Put an animal print belt around a tiny waist, or tie an animal print scarf above some great cleavage. Show off a sexy top half while hiding a large rear or hips by pairing an animal print blouse with a black skirt.
Step6Remember that a little goes a long way. Because animal prints are such a bold choice, consider using just an accessory such as a snake-print handbag, leopard print shoes or a scarf.

Fashion Tips for Short Women

Asked by rinku in Beauty & Fashion at   3:47 PM on September 06, 2008

Sree Kutti's Answer

- Your aim is to elongate your body. The most frequent mistake petite women making in terms of clothing is cutting their bodies by using pieces of clothes as jackets and belts in the wrong proportions. Wearing large belts on top of pants or skirts together with blouses of different color is not the best choice as it cuts the body in two parts, drawing attention to the shortness of the figure.

- You should also avoid wearing extra fabric around the waist. You already possess a good amount of volume in this area and the last thing you need adding some more.

- A false myth is the idea that very long skirts make your legs look long. Very long, baggy skirts make your legs look shorter. Long skirts may make you look taller if they go down to the ankle level and if they are straight.

- A good trick to elongate your legs is to wear straight pants that cover your shoes. This will definitely add some extra inches to your legs.

- Mixing colors is permitted for petite women but remember that it is the monochromatic clothing that makes you look taller and slimmer.

- Avoid wearing thick fabric clothing as it adds extra weight to your figure.

- The best trick to elongate your body is to wear vertical lines patterned clothing. But keep in mind not to exaggerate as you will end up looking like a zebra. It is enough to wear a pair of jeans that have a vertical line in the seams and you will create the illusion of a taller person. Just one or two lines are enough to create this illusion. Try to avoid wearing clothing items with multiple vertical lines or mixing two garments with lines pattern.

- If you also have some extra pounds, the best way to hide them is to fit properly the clothing items. Remember that oversize t-shirts don't hide extra pounds, they make people look baggy, without any shape.

- Too tight means too bad. However very tight clothes are risky too.Properly fitted clothes help you show the best of your body. Never wear clothes that show an open view of your tummy. It will only call attention to this wrong part of your figure.

- And the 'must do' rule for petite women is to always wear high heels. Matching stilettos to long, straight pants is the combination that will make you look taller and slimmer in any situation.

How to Treat Greasy Hair

Asked by rinku in Beauty & Fashion at   3:47 PM on September 06, 2008

Sree Kutti's Answer

It is thought that mainly people with fine hair have more of a problem with oily hair than anybody else. This is because they have more hair per square inch of the scalp, and the more hair you have, the more oil glands you have, hence a problem with greasy hair can be a lot worse if you have fine hair!

It is thought that greasy hair can be made worse by various things including heat, and the male hormone androgen. However, whatever the cause of oily, greasy hair, it is still a nightmare and luckily there is some home remedies to help!

Homemade Astringent

In order to clean excess oil away from the scalp, a homemade Astringent may be the answer. One way of creating a good one involves mixing equal parts of mouthwash and witch hazel, applied with cotton wool. Be sure to only use this on the scalp however as it could damage the hair or irritate it if there is too much contact with it. The witch hazel acts as an Astringent and the mouthwash acts as an antiseptic. If you find that you scalp is really oily, you could always use this every time you wash your hair.

Try an Acidic Rinse

Lemon mixed with a quart of good water such as distilled water, makes a great rinse. It is best to use the juice of two lemons and this can really help to reduce the oil on your scalp.

Also, vinegar often makes a really good rinse, though it does not smell as good as the lemon! It is better to use white vinegar and it is thought that two tablespoons of the vinegar mixed with one cupful of water should work perfectly. The vinegar acts as a tonic for the scalp and it clears any remaining soap away from the scalp, which can often cause oily hair to be weighed down.

Create a Good Shampoo

A shampoo you can create yourself includes using some of your regular shampoo (try and use one as mild as possible), and simply add a teaspoon of Aloe Vera gel, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. It is best to use of a cup of your normal shampoo and blend all the ingredients together. After you have blended it all, wash your hair with it and then rinse thoroughly.

All fresh recipes should be stored in the fridge to enhance their shelf life. Usually they last for around one week and you should use it every day.

Baby Powder is not always Just for Babies!

If you are in a bit of a rush but your hair looks really dull and oily, you can always sprinkle a little baby powder into it, leave it to stand for around five minutes, and then simply comb it through. This in theory should soak up any excess oil in the scalp.

Overall, home remedies really can help as they are not as harsh as some specially designed shop-bought shampoos and conditioners for oily hair. All the ingredients are natural and they are fairly inexpensive to create. There is no harm in trying them and who knows, you may even find the perfect remedy for your oily, dull, lifeless hair!
