JIGNESH's Answer
Dear Rimjhim,
Puberty: It is the time period in which the person starts developing secondary sexual characters.
Secondary sexual character(SSC) are different in both sexes
Males
Development of hair on pubic region around penis near lower abdomen, chest and axilla
Further development of penis and scrotum
Development of hair on face and chin.
Development of sexual instinct and attraction towards the girls.
Develpment of musculature and hoarseness of voice(typical male pattern due to thickness of vocal chords)
Typical masculine distribution of fat.
Females
Development of breasts with adipose tissue
Develpment of hair on scalp, pubic hair of typical feminine distribution, hair inaxilla, around lower abdomen
Starting of menstrual cycle.
Deposition of fat on hips and on breasts in typical feminine pattern .
Voice becomes shrill and soft with puberty.
So with the onset of puberty menses or periods start in females.
Thus it is evident from above things that when puberty starts menstrual periods also start.
Hope this explains your querry,
thanks,jignesh
