Dr.Anil's Answer

Either the question is just imaginary asked casually or you are in deep problems. The answer is self obvious. As mother is one of the most important females in your life you have to come for her help in any way like intermediation, escorting her to safety, counseling etc. in most such case the person can be either your father or wife which i could make out from the way the question is asked.Protect your mother, find out the reason for the dispute and finally do counseling and try to develop permanent solution.

Asked by Vijay Kayal in Agony Aunt at   7:04 PM on May 26, 2008

Dr.Anil's Answer

From your question I could make out that you are the victim of the quarrelsome lady.It is also clear from the way of your writing that your attempts to change her has resulted in failures repeatedly. Now you have two options,
You have to either change yourself or adapt to the circumstances as the environment cannot change. So either change your place of worship or if not possible then turn a deaf ear and keep mum.

wy men think they outshine women?

Asked by ria kapur in Others at   4:52 PM on March 27, 2008

Dr.Anil's Answer

I do not agree with your statement. Most of the men including me know very well that they can never outshine women. In fact they themselves get their shine from the women in their lives in either of the form of mother, sister, wife, daughter or even as a sincere friend like you.But most men do get the first four women in their lives but very few are lucky enough to get a women sincere friend as I am.
In fact I change your statement to "Most men think that women are their Sunshine".This includes me.

i am in love and i don't know how to express my love. i fear she would not accept me.please tell me how to imress her and express my love

Asked by abhinav in Love & Romance at   6:33 PM on May 24, 2008

Dr.Anil's Answer

Love is never expressed it is made to be felt to the person whom you love.
Love is not an act so that it may be a single time expression. Its a series of gradually developing affinity for each other beginning from visual impact, more meetings, knowing each other, development of a feeling of being together or sharing, liking each other and then the stage which you can call love which signifiy that now the couple wants to be together for ever.Remember these feelings are not everlasting and waxes and wanes with time. True love overcomes all such barriers and survives the bitterness of facts and events of life while enjoying the sweetness of life most.
So evaluate yourself where do you stand, are your feelings measure love as per the above parameters or they are just an infatuation or temporary attraction.
If the feeling is of love then go ahead make the girl feel that you love her and more important why you love her.Be nice to her, make her feel her importance in your life and what you both shall achieve if you are able to get togetherness for life.
Remember real love never requires verbal expression, its a phenomenon which usually happens both sides simultaneously.
I(f you are in doubt that she won't accept you then you have still to think over and start behaving in a manner to seek her attention by your favorable activities rather then going straight way and expressing it.Remember one sided love if denied hurts too much.

Asked by bhagathks in Personal Health at   5:04 PM on March 26, 2008

Dr.Anil's Answer

The world's advisory board on pollutiion has picked Sukinda Valley in Orissa, and Vapi in Gujarat as two of the most polluted regions in a list of the top 10 worldwide.
The top 10 have been picked from what the institute calls the "Dirty Thirty," a larger list of the 30 worst polluted areas in different parts of the world.
In the city of Sukinda, approximately 70% of the surface water and 60% of the drinking water contains hexavalent chromium, caused by the dumping of waste products. The air and soil are also heavily polluted.
The report says that almost 9 out of 10 deaths occurring in the mining areas and nearby industrial villages are chromite related.

is there a permanent nonsurgical cure for facial twitchings unlike temporary cures lik botox and medications?

Asked by sunny in Personal Health at   8:31 PM on March 26, 2008

Dr.Anil's Answer

Hemifacial spasm (HFS) is characterized by tonic and clonic contractions of the muscles innervated by the ipsilateral facial nerve. It is important to distinguish this from other causes of facial spasms, such as psychogenic facial spasm, facial tic, facial myokymia, blepharospasm, and tardive dyskinesia. Magnetic resonance imaging and angiography studies frequently demonstrate vascular compression of the root exit zone of the facial nerve. Importantly, an underlying space-occupying lesion needs to be excluded in patients with associated atypical features such as facial numbness and weakness. Botulinum toxin injection to the facial muscles is an effective treatment for HFS, with few disabling side-effects.Commonly known as Facial twitchings.
Patients with HFS usually present at between 40 and 50 years of age. They frequently complain of involuntary eye closure, which interferes with vision and causes social embarrassment. The facial spasms are spontaneous and may persist during sleep. Symptoms are frequently aggravated by stress, fatigue, anxiety, and voluntary facial movements. Relaxation, alcohol intake, touching the affected areas, and exercise reportedly improve symptoms in some patients.
Treatment:-
1.Drug s:-The efficacy of oral medications is often transient. Carbamazepine, anticholinergics, baclofen, clonazepam, haloperidol and recently gabapentine have all been used.

2.Botulinum toxin injection
Botulinum toxin (BTX) is one of the most potent biological toxins known. The toxin is a zinc endopeptidase that acts on one or more of the neurosecretory proteins in the presynaptic nerve terminal. It inhibits the calcium-mediated release of the acetylcholine into synaptic junction resulting in local chemical denervation and loss of neuronal activity in the targeted organ.

3.Surgery
Microvasc ular decompression (MVP) of the facial nerve at the cerebellopontine angle, the most common surgical procedure carried out today, results in markedly improved HFS in the majority of patients, with success rates of >90% in some series.8 However, a recurrence rate of up to 20% has been reported.

4.Extracranial neurosurgical operations involving sectioning the peripheral nerve trunk or its branches, unilateral removal of the orbicularis oculi and corrugator superciliaris muscles, injection of alcohol or phenol to injure the facial nerve, and percutaneous puncture of the facial nerve at the stylomastoid foramen have all been used with varying success in the past and seldom performed nowadays.

NO,THE ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION IS NO,AS THERE IS NO PERMANENT CURE FOR FACIAL TWITCHING UNLIKE TEMPORARY CURES LIKE BOTULINUM TOXIN AND DRUGS AS MENTIONED ABOVE
