Treatment for Hair Loss using Rubbing of Scalp
A vigorous rubbing of the scalp with fingers after washing the hair with cold water is one of the most effective among the several home remedies for the prevention and treatment of hair loss. The scalp should be rubbed vigorously till it starts to tingle with the heat. It will activate the sebaceous glands and energise the circulation of blood in the affected area, making the hair grow healthy.

Hair Loss home remedy using Amla Oil
Amla oil, prepared by boiling dry pieces of amla in coconut oil, is considered a valuable hair tonic for enriching hair growth. A mixture of an equal quantity of fresh amla juice and lime juice, used as a shampoo also stimulates hair growth and prevents hair loss.

Treatment for Hair Loss treatment using Lettuce
Lettuce is useful in preventing hair loss. A mixture of lettuce and spinach juice is believed to help the growth of hair if taken to the extent to half a litre a day

Hair Loss home remedy using Amaranth
Amaranth is another valuable remedy for hair loss. Its fresh leaf juice should be applied to the hair. It will help the growth of the hair and keep it soft.

Hair Loss treatment using Alfalfa
The juice of alfalfa, in combination with equal quantities of carot and lettuce juice, taken daily, also helps the growth of hair to a remarkable extent. The combination of these juices is rich in elements which are particularly useful for the growth of hair. While preparing alfalfa juice, the leaves of the plant may be used when they can be obtained fresh.

Hair Loss treatment using Margosa
The leaves of the margosa tree are also beneficial in the treatment of hair loss. If hair has been falling or has ceased to grow it should be washed with the decoction of neem leaves. This will stop hair from falling and stabilise its blackness. It will also make the hair longer and kill lice and other infesting insects.

Home remedies for Hair Loss using Mustard Oil and Henna Leaves
Mustard oil, boiled with henna leaves, is useful for healthy growth of hair. About 250 ml of mustard oil should be boiled in a tin basin. About sixty grams of henna leaves should be gradually put in this oil till they are burnt in the oil. The oil should then be filtered using a cloth and stored. Regular massage of the head with the oil will produce abundant hair.

Treatment for Hair Loss using Coconut Milk
The application of coconut milk all over the scalp and massaging it into the hair roots is also beneficial in the treatment of hair loss. It nourishes the hair and promotes hair growth. Coconut milk is prepared by grinding the coconut shavings and squeezing them well.

Hair Loss treatment using Lime-Pepper Seeds
Certain home remedies have also been found beneficial in the treatment of patchy baldness. The most valuable of these remedies is the seeds of lime and black pepper, ground together to get a fine paste. This paste applied on the patches, has a mildly irritant action. This increases blood circulation to the affected area and stimulates hair growth. This paste should be applied twice a day, for a few weeks.

how to loose my weight

Asked by anitha in Personal Health at   3:27 PM on April 29, 2008

deepa iyer's Answer

In the opinion of 99 percent of nutritionists, including myself, the only effective way to lose weight is to reduce calories-in and increase calories-out.
Furthermore, anyone who wants to lose weight should avoid any very-low-calorie diet plans or any other artificial type of fad diet. Not only are such diet plans often lacking in diet nutrition, but also they don't help us to adopt good eating habits which is an essential part of successful weight loss.
Lastly, anyone who wants to lose weight and maintain their weight loss should take regular daily exercise, lasting 20-45 minutes depending on their health, fitness and overall commitment to lose weight

deepa iyer's Answer

you've been thinking about having a liposuction procedure, then you may have come across something called laser-assisted liposuction. No, it's not some futuristic therapy with miracle results. It's just an application of the latest in technology that aids the traditional liposuction process.

What is a laser exactly? Well, it's a bit complicated and involves quantum mechanics, but in short it's a concentrated beam of light tuned to a specific frequency. Consider for a minute that the light coming off that light bulb nearby is actually emitting light of many frequencies. Lasers take one of the frequencies and pump out a lot of energy in that range.

So how can this all help with liposuction? Traditional liposuction is already a lightly invasive procedure compared to a scalpel technique. A laser-assisted liposuction helps to liquefy the fat in your body before it is removed. That's far less invasive and damaging than micro-cannulas and even ultrasound assisted liposuction. That's because lasers can be fine-tuned to deliver their energy beneath your skin. A beam can have the power to get past the initial layers of your skin and dump their energy into the fat deposits.

You should realize that though this seems revolutionary, it is highly experimental at this stage. Ultrasound has the dangers of skin burning, but lasers don't seem to have this problem. The long-term effects of laser exposure of this sort are unknown, however, and you should really discuss this with a surgeon who is well trained in this field.

A laser can also help to tighten your skin after a liposuction has been performed. People with loose and inelastic skin usually have unsightly droops after the operation that could require skin lifts. The scarring that comes from these lifts could defeat the purpose of achieving a beautiful appearance. A carbon dioxide laser can be used to treat the layers immediately beneath the skin. The energy helps to reconstruct these layers and pull the surrounding skin inwards.

As it stands, lasers are only one part of the liposuction solution. Like ultrasound, it only assists in making the procedure safer and easier to recover from. However, do the powerful nature of lasers, you should only trust your operation to a board-certified surgeon who has been trained in the use of these high-power devices.

Liposuction is a great choice for people who've worked hard to get rid of fat and have some fatty deposits that just won't go away. The procedure in conjunction with lasers can be extremely painless and accurate compared to traditional liposuction techniques. It'll probably be more expensive due to equipment costs and training, but the amazing results can be worth it.

how to prevent excessive sweat??

Asked by kushal in Personal Health at   11:38 AM on April 27, 2008

deepa iyer's Answer

Luckily, there are a number of ways to treat excessive sweating & hyperhidrosis , from mild to severe cases, and in most parts of the body. Your first attempt at treatment should be a 10 to 20% aluminium chloride antiperspirant, designed specifically for excessive sweating & Hyperhidrosis. Products like Driclor, Anhydrol Forte, Perspirex & Odaban are very popular treatments. Driclor & Anhydrol Forte are strong antiperspirants (containing 20% aluminium chloride) for use on the underarms , hands, and feet. Perspirex is a roll-on antiperspirant for underarm sweating, stronger than most standard antiperspirants. Odaban is a spray-applicated product, containing 20% aluminium chloride, and may also be used on the face and other areas.

If none of these treatments are successful, it is recommended you consult your doctor. More severe solutions for Hyperhidrosis include prescriptive medication, Iontophoresis (electrical treatment of the sweat glands), Botulinum Toxin (Botox) injections (that aim to block the sweat glands), and Endoscopic Thoracic Sympathectomy (ETS) – a surgical procedure most effective for sweating of the hands.
