Just search in the Internet as "Time in hinduism" you will find the details in the encyclopedia. It was around 3,102 BC. About 5,100 years have passed and we have a balance of 4.27 lac years left.

Yes. It is not a mythological story. Valmiki in his Ramayana has given the exact planetary positions at the time of various events in Lord Ram's life which one can trace back to the exact date.

It is unfortunate in today's India we have forgotten our roots.

Yes you can. You need to pass an exam before that. There is an institute in Malleswaram called Yeshas (It is on 18th cross Margosa road).. You can register yourself there.
