23. He scored 1306 runs, at an average of 34.36, including one century and eight fifties. His first class record is much more impressive, however, as he scored 12,671 runs at an average of 43.99. He made 32 centuries.

Hitting five fours in one over off England Captain Tony Greig. At the time he was only 21 years old and had reached the Test team on account of his four successive centuries for South Australia. In the first innings he scored 17 before being caught by Greig off the bowling of Chris Old. In the second innings he scored 56, reaching his half century during the over bowled by Tony Greig. He was out shortly afterwards, caught by Fletcher off the bowling of Underwood.

England. Kallis played his first test match from 14-18 December 1995 against England at Durban. The last three days of the match were all rained out, so the match was drawn. Kallis did bat but only scored one run before being caught behind.

Australia. Kallis scored his maiden test hundred against Australia on December 30, 1997, at the MCG. His score of 101 was enough to save South Africa a draw on the final day of the match.

MCG. The Melbourne Cricket Ground called 'the peoples ground' hosted the first ever cricket Test match in 1877 as well as hosting the 1956 Olympics and was re-developed for the 2006 Commonwealth Games.

Ankle. In the 2006-07 Ashes series, Brett took 20 wickets for Australia, and was aiming for a spot on the Australian team during the 2007 World Cup. The ankle injury he sustained in a training mishap before the Chappell-Hadlee series in New Zealand forced Brett to pull out of the World Cup team.

Hi ashish i dont think he can com eback as there is heavy competition going on in indian team even if sachin is sitting out of the team no body requiring him in the team ,just think of the current situation,i thought at BArabati,cuttack birat kohli and Pragyan ojha may play but still they have to sit along with gautam gambhir and team won.So mahammed kaif has no that much talent to knock the door.

Wisden Cricketer of the Year. Every year, five cricketers are named as the Wisden Cricketers of the Year based primarily on their 'influence on the previous English season'. Matthew Hoggard, Simon Jones, Kevin Pietersen and Ricky Ponting were also named for the award in 2006.

Right-arm off break. Gilchrist had never bowled in Tests, One-Day Internationals or at a first class level. He has bowled two overs in List A Limited Overs games and finished with figures of 0-10.
