u have spent entire of ur life with urself.
u know urself better than anyone else.
& i am more than sure that u don't know very much about ur own character.....do u ??
so how u expect others to help u find the character of a girl whom they don't even know?
i mean ur question itself is useless!!
the best i think u can do is use ur commonsense { which althuogh isn't very common these days}.

why u want to keep that guy away from his ex??? is he ur man these days? & if he is, tell him traight in his face about ur doubts!!
so either he appriciates the fact that u r a no nonsense gal or he qiuts{ still "in time"}..so it works for u both ways.
moreover if in future he doesn't mend his ways u wll be justified enough to dump him..

tanushree,
men are biologically (naturally) less sensitive then women .....
see it this way.... when u feel sensitive you r your natural self( normal)....but when we men r sensitive we are into experiencing a biological HIGH....we r not at our normal selves..
as for the effect of time on the sensitivities goes, both the sexes witness a dip ( only of varying proportions , owing to their natural tendencies as i said above)...
other then this there are a plethora of reasons that contribute their respective bits to it. one is the age itself....as we grow older we settle down into a self defined selves....{ confusing !!! yes i know , but u will get the meaning with a bit pondering}..
then there is the difference in exposure to the situations & expectations life offers men ....
but at the same time being less sensitive is no sin . both men & women can do gr8 together by being aware about such differences & having mutual respect for them.{ instead of making such differences the issues to fight upon}..
here comes the tolerance in play...
