Someone tell me the approximate best prices for 'Creative' speakers (about 5.1 configuration and above).

Asked by Arun Pandian in Computers & Technology at   8:29 PM on September 29, 2008

Sudipta Deb's Answer

Creative Gigaworks S750 7.1 Speaker System is the best one. The specification is given below:
With a massive 700 Watts RMS total system power at its disposal, the individual power rating for each of the satellites is almost as good as that of a complete decent 5.1 system. Each of the seven satellites boast of 70 Watts RMS, while the subwoofer is rated at 210 Watts RMS. Each satellite is rated at 8 ohms at 0.1% THD at 1 KHz and the subwoofer is rated at 8 ohms at 0.2% THD at 70 Hz. The S750 has a frequency response of 25 Hz to 40 KHz and an impressive signal-to-noise-ratio of 99 dB.
Still the price is not that much huge It is only Rs 15000. Taxes Extra

what is blueray disc?and explain its uses..........its realy make with bluerays?

Asked by santhosh in Computers & Technology at   8:30 PM on September 29, 2008

Sudipta Deb's Answer

Blu-ray Disc (also known as Blu-ray or BD) is an optical disc storage media format. Its main uses are high-definition video and data storage. The disc has the same physical dimensions as a standard DVD or CD.
The name Blu-ray Disc is derived from the blue laser (violet colored) used to read and write this type of disc. Because of its shorter wavelength (405 nm), substantially more data can be stored on a Blu-ray Disc than on the DVD format, which uses a red (650 nm) laser. A dual layer Blu-ray Disc can store 50 GB, almost six times the capacity of a double-dual layer DVD (or more than 10 times if single-layer).
During the high definition optical disc format war, Blu-ray Disc competed with the HD DVD format. On February 19, 2008, Toshiba — the main company supporting HD DVD — announced it would no longer develop, manufacture, and market HD DVD players and recorders,[2] leading almost all other HD DVD companies to follow suit, effectively ending the format war.
Blu-ray Disc was developed by the Blu-ray Disc Association, a group representing consumer electronics, computer hardware, and motion picture production. As of September 20, 2008 more than 850 Blu-ray Disc titles have been released in the United States and more than 500 Blu-ray Disc titles have been released in Japan.[3][4] There are expected to be over 1200 Blu-ray Disc titles released in the United States by the end of 2008

i purchased a camcorder from china ,the DVD of my camcorder can't be read by any DVD drive.. what should i do ??

Asked by sonam kaur in Computers & Technology at   8:43 PM on September 29, 2008

Sudipta Deb's Answer

I also faced the same problem with my old camcorder which i bough from China. They normally don't have any support center here in India. So when i faced the problem, i had no other option other than through it to dustbin. You can just give a try. Go through the manual and try to identify if you have any configuration to do. If everything looks fine but still the DVD drive is not recognised, then you have the bought one new camcorder, Sorry!!

what is gprs and wap?

Asked by santhosh in Computers & Technology at   8:33 PM on September 29, 2008

Sudipta Deb's Answer

General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is a packet oriented Mobile Data Service available to users of Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) and IS-136 mobile phones. It provides data rates from 56 up to 114 kbit/s.
GPRS can be used for services such as Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) access, Short Message Service (SMS), Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS), and for Internet communication services such as email and World Wide Web access. GPRS data transfer is typically charged per megabyte of traffic transferred, while data communication via traditional circuit switching is billed per minute of connection time, independent of whether the user actually is using the capacity or is in an idle state. GPRS is a best-effort packet switched service, as opposed to circuit switching, where a certain Quality of Service (QoS) is guaranteed during the connection for non-mobile users.
2G cellular systems combined with GPRS are often described as "2.5G", that is, a technology between the second (2G) and third (3G) generations of mobile telephony. It provides moderate speed data transfer, by using unused Time division multiple access (TDMA) channels in, for example, the GSM system. Originally there was some thought to extend GPRS to cover other standards, but instead those networks are being converted to use the GSM standard, so that GSM is the only kind of network where GPRS is in use. GPRS is integrated into GSM Release 97 and newer releases. It was originally standardized by European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), but now by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP).

WAP is an open international standard[1] for application layer network communications in a wireless communication environment. Its main use is to enable access to the Internet (HTTP) from a mobile phone or PDA.
A WAP browser provides all of the basic services of a computer based web browser but simplified to operate within the restrictions of a mobile phone, such as its smaller view screen. WAP sites are websites written in, or dynamically converted to, WML (Wireless Markup Language) and accessed via the WAP browser.
Before the introduction of WAP, service providers had extremely limited opportunities to offer interactive data services. Interactive data applications are required to support now commonplace activities such as:
Email by mobile phone
Tracking of stock market prices
Sports results
News headlines
Music downloads
The Japanese i-mode system is another major competing wireless data protocol.

There may be lots of reason for this. May be your monitor does not have that facility or your may not installed the monitor driver properly. So what you can do is that uninstall the monitor driver if you have installed it already and then install a fresh copy of monitor driver. I hope this will solve your problem. If not then call the customer care. They will definitely solve the problem.
