1. In DVD-Video, a division of a title. Technically called a part of title (PTT). 2. A method of organizing different scenes of a movie for easy navigation and access. DVDs are indexed by chapter, similar to the way a CD has a track. DVD players allow you to skip to a particular chapter or scene.

National Television System Committee. The NTSC is responsible for setting television and video standards in the United States (in Europe and the rest of the world, the dominant television standards are PAL and SECAM). The NTSC standard for television defines a composite video signal with a refresh rate of 60 half-frames (interlaced) per second. Each frame contains 525 lines and can contain 16 million different colors.

"rear-projection" comes from the fact that the image is projected and reflected onto the screen from behind the screen, unlike traditional video and film projection in which the projector itself is placed in front of the screen, such as in a movie theater.

As a unit of measurement for resolution, "television lines" (in the plural), or TVL, refers to the maximum number of alternating black dots and intervening white spaces that can occur and be distinguished in a straight line whose length is equal to the diameter of the largest circle that fits in the screen or other area of reference.
