How parents can play role to stop Youthful Drinking?

Asked by Shampa in Personal Health at   12:37 AM on February 14, 2008

anisha's Answer

the parents can set an example by not drinking.. a lesson is better taught by practicing rather than preaching.. many secret drinkers are from the families where the parents drink themselves... and also they can educate the children about the harmful effect of the alcohol... the parents should be well aware of the peer group of their children and it's activities.. this will help to bring down the teenage drinking and it's untoward effects...

I want to putup some fat because im thin how i can do this ?

Asked by dheeraj in Personal Health at   10:29 PM on February 13, 2008

anisha's Answer

if u want to increase ur girth the best way to do it is build the muscles rather than accumulating the fat.. to build the muscles have a regular weight lifting regime... and also increase the protein content in ur diet by increasing the pulses and egg and meat intake.. if u follow a regular weight lifting regime then u will see the difference in a matter of a month... accumulating fat is not good for health and it will be a problem loosing it at a later date... so act wisely and build the muscles....

what is the sex life at the 49th year .

Asked by dilip in Personal Health at   7:43 PM on February 13, 2008

anisha's Answer

the sex at this age is a kind of soft sex and the women like it more than the teenage sex... but in men there is a loss of libido.. and also this is the age of modern diseases like diabetes and hypertension which accelerate the sexual dysfunction.. so ur own health status and ur stamina and the desire for sex determines ur sexual life at this age... and i remember reading that sex at this age is more enjoyed and more valued.. best of luck...

my skin is oily what is the best ayurvedic madecine for care ?

Asked by tilak patel in Personal Health at   8:06 PM on February 13, 2008

anisha's Answer

the oily skin is genetically inherited... and is associated with problems like acne, dandruff, saeborrhic dermatitis, etc.. so the care of such a skin is very essential and consists of:
1. wash the face regularly using soap and water.. wash as many as 5-6 times a day
2. have regular head bath every alternative day..
3. don't use the oil based preparations like fair and lovely or fair and handsome, etc..
4. use lactocalamine cream or cream with clay content like the garnier matte.. this absorbs excess oil in the skin and keeps it dry for a long time..
5. if it is very oily then u can use the retino A cream to reduce the oil secretion...
these measures are enough and will do a lot good....

I cannot sleep easily in night and in the morning there is a problem for getting up also? Can somebody tell me the solution

Asked by Praveen in Personal Health at   8:11 PM on February 13, 2008

anisha's Answer

u r not alone praveen.. there are many like u... many of us are occupied with some tensions or would be thinking of some one and find difficulty in falling sleep and late to get out of the bed... but this sleep pattern adds a burden on ur life and impairs ur performance... so a good night's sleep is very essential.. follow the following things for a good night sleep:
1. the light in the room u sleep should be as minimal as possible
2. don't do exercise 3-4 hrs before sleep
3. no coffee in the evening after 6
4. have a cup of milk before going to bed, this will act as a sedative
5. don't engage in activities requiring high attention, just before sleep.. some of this are solving maths problems or riddles or the financial situation of ur own, etc.. these will spoil the sleep
6. have a light sex before sleep..
7. have a regular time of sleeping and waking up this regularity helps a great deal.
8. keep all ur worries aside before going to sleep.. u can achieve this by writing the dairy or by meditation or other imaginative methods like imagining the wrapping up of ur worries in a paper and throwing it.. so on...
9. better to avoid mobile 1/2-1 hour before sleep
10. read literary books before going to sleep.. this will take out the tensions in mind and is also relaxing to mind...
all these will definitely help u to get a good night sleep..

From the past 17 years my mother is facing an eye problem, her left eye's pupil does not move with the eye movement, can anybody help me out, any experiences??

Asked by Tarun Kumar in Personal Health at   7:41 PM on February 13, 2008

anisha's Answer

the size of pupil changes with change in the ambient light conditions and with change in the focus... this is normally under the control of the nervous system and the sympathetic and parasympathetic arches... if the pupil on one side are not responding then the following things are considered:
1. the glaucoma (raised pressure within the eyeball) can cause such a problem
2. if the pupil is small and doesn't change it's shape with change in amount of light- horner's syndrome.. this is paralysis of the sympathetic chain.. and cause for this has to be sought for..
3. tertiary syphilis: in this the pupils will react to light but will not change in size on changing the distance of focus.. this is rarely seen now a days..
4. it can also be due to paralysis of the occulomotor nerve.. but in this condition there will be associated squint and double vision....

so i primarily consider the glaucoma as the cause and it needs to be confirmed by measuring the pressure within the eyeball... and also she has to get an assessment of the visual field using perimetry... this will help to decide as to what exactly she is suffering from and that can be treated accordingly... so better get the opinion of an opthalmologist...
