alfalfa is a type of plant that grows throughout the year.. it grows even in the drought conditions.. it is a legume... the leaves and seeds are rich in proteins and contains all the essential amino acids, 8 in number... it is also rich in the vitamin A, E, K and nutrients like the calcium, iron, etc... it helps to alkalnise the urine and prevents the formation of stones in the kidney... it is also said to purify the liver... it is extensively used in the chinese medicines...
