What is ajax ... ??? how to create ajax web page ( with example )... ???

Asked by Mamatha in Computers & Technology at   9:56 PM on April 23, 2009

alokgupta14's Answer

AJAX stands for Asynchronous JavaScript And XML.

AJAX is a type of programming made popular in 2005 by Google (with Google Suggest).

AJAX is not a new programming language, but a new way to use existing standards.

With AJAX you can create better, faster, and more user-friendly web applications.

AJAX is based on JavaScript and HTTP requests.

AJAX is not a new programming language, but a technique for creating better, faster, and more interactive web applications.

With AJAX, your JavaScript can communicate directly with the server, using the JavaScript XMLHttpRequest object. With this object, your JavaScript can trade data with a web server, without reloading the page.

AJAX uses asynchronous data transfer (HTTP requests) between the browser and the web server, allowing web pages to request small bits of information from the server instead of whole pages.

The AJAX technique makes Internet applications smaller, faster and more user-friendly.

To understand how AJAX works, we will create a small AJAX application.

First, we are going to create a standard HTML form with two text fields: username and time. The username field will be filled in by the user and the time field will be filled in using AJAX.

The HTML file will be named "testAjax.htm", and it looks like this (notice that the HTML form below has no submit button!):

<html>
<body>

<for m name="myForm">
Name: <input type="text" name="username" />
Time: <input type="text" name="time" />
</form>

</body>
</html>

What is difference between 3G and WiFi ?

Asked by TTNL TPD in Computers & Technology at   10:49 PM on April 23, 2009

alokgupta14's Answer

First of all, the difference between U.S. and abroad 3G bands is the operating frequencies. In fact, T-Mobile's 3G network also operates on a different frequency than AT&T's 3G network here in the U.S. So, if you buy an unlocked phone, it's important to make sure it supports your carrier's 3G frequency. Here's an overview of the 3G frequencies:

# AT&T Wireless: 850/1900 MHz
# T-Mobile: 1700 MHz
# Europe: 2100 MHz

The lower the frequency range, the better reach a frequency will offer and the fewer base stations are required to get the cellular fun flowing. Recently, Verizon Wireless won a large portion of the 700 MHz band auction, which will enable the carrier to build a mobile broadband network that could be truly nationwide. And the technology they will deploy for this network is LTE (Long Term Evolution), which is 4G technology offering significantly improved network stability and response times as well as higher data speeds.

That said, a lot of your cell phone usage actually goes through the Internet backbone, which is also why the major carriers are usually major Internet providers. So the difference between 3G and Wi-Fi actually mainly comes down to the way of wirelessly connecting to the Internet backbone. If you have a private Wi-Fi network connected to a reliable Internet provider, nothing will beat that. Most carriers will not allow you to connect your cell phone to a Wi-Fi network for making calls though, and especially not for free (unless you're using VoIP clients), despite the fact that you may have arranged for everything to work smoothly yourself. On the other hand, a Wi-Fi network of course have limited reach, so if you're on the road, there's currently no other option than choosing 3G in those scenarios.

In the future though, the lack of theoretically available bandwidth may force network providers to use whatever is available in a more rational way, which will ultimately let you pay for only one data subscription, and then use it however you wish. Sprint, Clearwire and Google have already taken the first step to that future by starting the deployment of the Xohm network in Baltimore, based on long-range Mobile WiMAX network technology.

What is 3G technology?

Asked by TTNL TPD in Computers & Technology at   10:53 PM on April 23, 2009

alokgupta14's Answer

3G technology is the latest in mobile communications. 3G stands for "third generation" -- this makes analog cellular technology generation one and digital/PCS generation two. 3G technology is intended for the true multimedia cell phone -- typically called smartphones -- and features increased bandwidth and transfer rates to accommodate Web-based applications and phone-based audio and video files.

3G comprises several cellular access technologies. The three most common ones as of 2005 are:

* CDMA2000 - based on 2G Code Division Multiple Access (see Cellular Access Technologies)
* WCDMA (UMTS) - Wideband Code Division Multiple Access
* TD-SCDMA - Time-division Synchronous Code-division Multiple Access

3G networks have potential transfer speeds of up to 3 Mbps (about 15 seconds to download a 3-minute MP3 song). For comparison, the fastest 2G phones can achieve up to 144Kbps (about 8 minutes to download a 3-minute song). 3G's high data rates are ideal for downloading information from the Internet and sending and receiving large, multimedia files. 3G phones are like mini-laptops and can accommodate broadband applications like video conferencing, receiving streaming video from the Web, sending and receiving faxes and instantly downloading e-mail messages with attachments.

Of course, none of this would be possible without those soaring towers that carry cell-phone signals from phone to phone.

How can i formating my C drive?

Asked by aldrin in Computers & Technology at   7:42 AM on April 24, 2009

alokgupta14's Answer

Well, Formatting is to initialize a disk to prepare it for use.
The disk is checked for errors and organized so that data can be recorded and retrieved. Formatting a used disk erases any previously stored information.
We don't need to do anything.
There are commands which can take care of this.
If you are using Ms-DOS, the command is Format.
Just go to particular drive and write Format
Example:
C:\> Format < Enter Key>
The above command format C drive and make it empty .
Or
To format some other drive another ways is :
Format < drive name>
C:/> Format D: < Enter key >
The above command format D drive and make it empty .
In windows It is very simple
Just Right click on the drive you want to format and click "Format..."
Follow the steps to format the drive.
Another way is when you install / reinstall Operating system, You have the option to format your System drive.

One suggestion from my side, If you have anything important in your system drive. Just take a copy of it and store it any other drive.

When you format your hard disk, everything will be removed from that particular drive.

I think the Bollywood movie 13B is interesting..What do u think?

Asked by Pratanu in Movies at   10:56 PM on April 22, 2009

alokgupta14's Answer

It is a Good movie.

In today's world of unrelenting pressures, challenged survivals and super fast life styles, the major source of Relief, Information and Entertainment is... the TV. So much so, that it has moved up from its modest position of being just another 'house hold appliance' to actually determining the power equation in a family. It is easy to identify the hierarchy in the family depending on who controls the Remote Control. So what happens when the TV realizes this power and begins to take control. What happens when instead of showing you the facts, the TV, begins to show you what it wants you to see. What happens when Manohar, to his great horror, realizes that this is exactly what is happening with his wonderful family, who has just moved into their sweet new home at 13B.

Do you think the storyline of Slumdog Millionaire is good?

Asked by Pratanu in Movies at   10:55 PM on April 22, 2009

alokgupta14's Answer

The storyline is ok but the way Slumdog Millionaire has been made is just terrific.

The idea is old but the direction and concept is simply great.

Screenwriter Simon Beaufoy wrote Slumdog Millionaire based on the Boeke Prize-winning and Commonwealth Writers' Prize-nominated novel Q & A by Vikas Swarup.[8] To hone the script, Beaufoy made three research trips to India and interviewed street children, finding himself impressed with their attitudes. The screenwriter said of his goal for the script: "I wanted to get (across) the sense of this huge amount of fun, laughter, chat, and sense of community that is in these slums. What you pick up on is this mass of energy."

By the summer of 2006, British production companies Celador Films and Film4 Productions invited director Danny Boyle to read the script of Slumdog Millionaire. Boyle initially hesitated, since he was not interested in making a film about Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, which was produced by Celador.[9] However, Boyle soon found out that the screenwriter was Beaufoy, who had written The Full Monty (1997), one of the director's favorite British films, and decided to revisit the script.[10] Boyle was impressed by how Beaufoy wove the multiple storylines from Swarup's book into one narrative, and the director decided to commit to the project. The film was projected to cost US$15 million, so Celador sought a U.S. distributor to share costs. Fox Searchlight Pictures made an initial offer that was reportedly in the $2 million range, but Warner Independent Pictures made a $5 million offer to win rights to the picture.[9]

Gail Stevens came on board to oversee casting globally. Stevens had worked with Boyle throughout his career and was well-known for discovering new talent. Meredith Tucker was appointed to cast out of the US. The film-makers then travelled to Mumbai in September 2007 with a partial crew and began hiring local cast and crew for production in Karjat. Originally appointed as one of the five casting directors in India, Loveleen Tandan has stated that she "suggested to Danny and Simon Beaufoy, the writer of Slumdog, that it was important to do some of it in Hindi to bring the film alive [...] They asked me to pen the Hindi dialogues which I, of course, instantly agreed to do. And as we drew closer to the shoot date, Danny asked me to step in as the co-director."[11] Boyle then decided to translate nearly a third of the film's English dialogue into Hindi. The director fibbed to Warner Independent's president that he wanted 10% of the dialogue in Hindi, and she approved of the change. Filming locations included shooting in Mumbai's megaslum and in shantytown parts of Juhu, so film-makers controlled the crowds by befriending onlookers.[9] Filming began on 5 November 2007.[12]
