In my opinion, while all the three of them are legends in their own right, neither Kishore nor Mukesh could hold a candle to Rafi's versatility. While Kishore was the master of comedic and fun songs, he never could hit the right note as far as pathos went. And in Mukesh's case, pathos was all that he could portray. Rafi, on the other hand, added emotion to a song, and did not let the song's emotion override his contribution to the song at all. Be it any emotion. For romantic songs, you wanted to believe in love. For songs that conveyed pathos, you cried with him. For songs of devotion, you almost could feel God, and caste or religion just did not matter. Name an emotion, and he could get it right. No singer in this world can come within a mile of Rafi Saab's talent.
