from parel go to south mumbai at gate way of india from there u can go to elephanta caves but there is a time limit.

Parel to Gateway of India will be 40 mts by bus in the morning hours. Taxi will be a little fast. From Gateway to Elephanta 45 mts by motor launch.

It is 10 km . You havew to go nGate way of India and take a boat ride to reach there.
